As a german, i must say somehow when non natives speak german i find that super relaxing
This channel is basically constructed from that very idea! I had so many comments on my original channel whenever I tried German that I decided to do a whole German channel just for that reason!
Well Dresden is actually known as “Florence on the Elbe River” it used to be described as the most beautiful city not only in Germany but the entirety of Europe. That’s why it was so important for many Germans all over the country that they at least rebuild the inner city back to its former glory after it has been completely destroyed by fire bombing in WW2. Especially the Frauenkirche holds significant value as the East German government refused to rebuild it and during the entire existence of East Germany it was a gigantic ruin that was a memorial for the horrors of the war. After reunification huge amounts of money has been used to rebuild most of the old inner city and also the Frauenkirche, which is particularly interesting because they reused some of the old stones of the original church and if you look at the church now you can clearly see which stones are the original ones because they are almost completely black because of the fire bombing. So yeah thank you for finally looking at Dresden as it is definitely worth visiting.
Amazing comment - danke!!
As someone who is interested in Germany this was so fascinating and entertaining to watch. I think out of the cities you showed Dresden is my favorite. Not only is Dresden Historic but is fancy and modern looking at the same time ! Nice video btw
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi! Awesome video! I'm German and just realized that maybe Stolpersteine are a german thing. Are they? You skipped over them so quickly. So just in case let me explain: they have names of people on them who were killed by the Nazis in WW2, so mainly jewish people but also members of the resistance, homosexuals, disabled people and so on. They are there to "trip" over them, "Stolpern" in german. To make you remember the victims and the horrendous acts of the Nazi regime. Basically you trip and are therefore not forgetting and reminded to never let such things happen again. It's pretty symbolic, but I really like it. Hope those were even new infos. ;) lobe your channel(s) and this video! Love from Germany!
Oh I had no idea, thank you so much for explaining!!
Omg you have more of the tappy tablet videos on your language channels??? Jackpot!
Yes 😁
I'd love if you could include Landshut (near Munich)
Maybe you could view the city of Haan in center of Nrw. Although this city survived with many of its buildings in WW1 and 2
Relaxing video❤, i would like it if you do a video about duisburg in the ruhrgebiet!
Great suggestion!
Schönes Video! Danke.
