There’s not many drivers out there now would have a clue what that song was about now but I sure do. Loved that skip on the am in the middle of the night.
Yep. I was driving and old Cabover cornbinder with a shiny 290 cummapart, 10 speed road ranger. Back in the early 80’s there was a station in Shreveport Louisiana that you could pick up from Houston up to Oklahoma City and Dallas into Jackson Mississippi. It was called the KWKH road show. When I could no longer pick it up on my radio, I always knew I was a long ways from home.
My first long haul job was in a Transtar 318 with a 9513 I live in London Ontario Thought i had the World by the ass back then had alot to learn Man i miss those days
you are on a completely different plane that most would never even see if you didn't come DOWN To Their level and let them witness it and so humble you would never agree with that
Great as usual. One of my favorite singers man. Don't get too busy now to write some more songs about life and the road. Retirement does that to a fellow ya know.
I had one of those 318 Detroit and a 13 speed . Went everywhere, and broke down everywhere . Put the visegrips on the return line . Some guys took a dime and drilled a hole in it , put it in the return line . Old days , almost long forgotten.
Keep on trucking road gang coast to coast!!!!!

Once I didn't leave out with four gallons of oil in the sidebox and I had to buy oil on the road. The old man gave me a stern talking to.
They leaked so much , didn't have to change oil just keep adding fresh oil .
Detroit finally came out with 60 series engine .
Bozo kept me up many a night on WLW I miss those days!
Awesome job Paul, I miss the days of listening to those guys on the AM
👍👍👌
Screaming straight piped GM's were the best engines for showing off, but get it wrong in front of an old hand and they would shake their heads
