I just came up with a melody for my song after a few minutes of brainstorming and now I'm worried whether i subconsciously copied it or came up with it on my own. I love this video !! I'm glad this issue is being recognised.

As a trained musician, I am pretty skeptical. This doesn’t really address rhythm at all. Or harmonizations. Melody is one thing, sure - but there’s a whole lot more to music than just that.
If you had watched my entire talk (rather than this snippet), you'd see that we've also mathematically exhausted the 12-tone scale. Also, our project addresses pop music lawsuits - how many chromatic pieces have been the subject of lawsuits? Can you name a single one?

@@spectrumofreality apparently they used a five Note System 2500 years ago in china
Let's talk a moment to appreciate how much effort he puts into his contact to entertain-
Thank you Damien for deep diving something I’ve always wondered about. You are appreciated
i’ve always wondered about this! i love this video!!
*Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world* 😔😔😔
This is like saying that since most short combinations of words have been used, no new novels or poems are possible. Not so, at least not yet.
Tedx Rocks
I am wondering what is the Permutation of melodies is with the eight notes (Mathematically)????🤘🏼✍🏼
The math is [number of pitches] ^ [number of notes]. So our diatonic dataset of 8 pitches with 12 notes is 8^12.
wow such an amazing, interesting and hot topic! especially for an amateur composer like myself 💜

Wow Damien, real original Ted talk topic, everyone knows where this talk came from (Ed Sheeran)
Is the world running out of originality?
Hey, fitfirst, I did my Talk in 2019, and the Ed Sheeran decision wasn't until 2022.

Dude talks over his own applause quite a bit
Melody comes out by heart not with mind and today everyone is like heartless and selfish.
Ask Beethoven.
ACTUALLY TWELVE... everyone knows it... embarrassing
I guess he references a major scale.
