Per Federal Railroad Administration Rules 113 Does NOT need a boiler Jacket because this locomotive falls under the new rules that came out in 2013 that states steam locomotives built in the 1940's do not need boiler Jacketing as if an inspection happens they(inspectors) need to have better viewing of the exterior parts of a locomotive to determine if it needs to be repaired or replaced or is defective.

GRE 2057 I think she would look good with it, it's not required.
thats about $40,000 dollars to put a boiler jacket on that size of a locomotive
