One of the best bands ever . Should’ve been huge .
Just love everything about this band! Serious twang that thang, full tilt boogie classic rock & roll!
Muy grandes. Los descubrí en 1986. Tengo aún su segundo lp. Tenía otro en cassette.
Voy a intentar completar toda la discografía.
Gran grupo.
I wish I could have seen these guys back then. Great rock/r&b outfit. Hurley's voice is a gold bar.
What a voice.......!!!! Great band
This takes me back to my london pub rock days, i love these guys. Big Bill Hurley had a great voice.
The Inmates, Dr Feelgood, Nine Below Zero and many many more, almost every night in some boozer or sweaty club back in the day. I really miss it all.
+Andrew Jacob Kaufman For me, growing up in France, it was listening to John Peel on "BBC Radio One, W1A" that introduced me to this wonderful music from England, and so much more after and before this... Hugs, John Peel!
Wish i had that to miss!😢
Bill Hurley was allready so..impressive, seen them in France,he's a nice guy too, one who don't flee when you salute him...
I remember them back in the days.....I was a big fan (still am!)I like their records, great fucking band!
Wow! Just wow! 😎
I love the bass playing
Yes i ' m agree with you the bassist is fantastic
Ben Donnelly class act love the way he moves around stage, saw them in Liverpool University October 1980...Quality.
Very like Dr Feelgood. Great clip.
Nice Pub Rock noise! ❤
Inmates, Dr. Feelgood, Plimsouls, Fabulous Thunderbirds..

Awesome!... I heard this guys back in 79 on WLPJ NY best rock station! with a version Dirty Water about Hudson river and NYC!!
The Charles River- Boston, Mass.
1st hearing/seeing this group & really like.
Bill Hurley , and obviously The INMaTES every week on Peters Staines program, twice a week on Trashcan Radio. Listen to GUNN'S GROTTO! ( at your own risk, the place is dangerous).
Great Stuff !! 👊🤜🤛🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! -- The unsung heroes of good ol' rockin' songs, in an era when ska, elvis costello, joe jackson, disco, etc were the norm. I know, I was 20 back then :-)
What wrong with ska, Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello?
The Inmates toured America with Joe Jackson in 1980
'Love You Bill !Long Life!
Great concert. I love this band
Rock'n'roll ,and RnB ,merci !
Clean tight sound. I thought maybe lip synced ? Major influences across the 50's 60's 70's Van Morrison meets Thorogood to Eddie Cochran. Insane guitar licks screaming Yardbirds, Stones, Chuck Berry. They still have their unique style also. Love it!!!!!!
Jammed with Bill at Mary Costello`s house , great singer !
the inmates the best !!!!!!
I'm American. In 1979 I was 23 years old. I listened to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and all the great bands that came via the British Invasion of the 1960's. Prog Rock was dominant then, punk, new wave etc.. But this band has always had a sweet spot in my heart.
My Inmates inventory:
The Inmates - First Offence
Polydor (1979)
The Inmates - Shot In The Dark
Polydor (1980)
The Inmates - Five
Lolita (1984)
The Inmates - Dirty Water - The Best Of
Warner Bros. UK (2001)
Rolling Stone referred to them in a review as derivative. But Bill, Peter and the rest of these guys new how to "Rock, Roll ... and Hoochy Koo"!
I wish some day to see any one of them and thank them for the fine tunes.
Drinking Bombay Sapphire Gin martinis might have also had a influence on opinion. Cheers to you all!
PS:

FIRST OFFENCE - The Inmates - Polydor PD-1-6241 -
Producer: Vic Malle - List: 7.98
The sixties is a graveyard full of rotting corpses and restless
spirits awaiting musical resurrection. By far the most brilliant
case of grave robbing has now been commited by The Inmates
on this, their debut album. The immediate dead giveaway is the
tasteful use of guitar tremelo (a pre-feedback amp setting that
was a mainstay on Vox “Super Beatle” equipment) running
rampant through the album's tunes which are reminiscent of
(but more polished than) the birth of R&B/rock.
you know in usa? INMATES PLAY IN USA i im french!

Cousin Bill.
Second hand riffs but first class r'n'r! Real high energy badass burning r'n'r! Love it!
Rockin' Mates!!!!!!!
👏👏🎼🎵🎶🎸
Im three time loser , in misery ..🎸
ROLLING STONES all the way
da época das bandas de ouro
Bill Hurley, Chelsea's Micky Droy's cousin I believe..hence the size
Northampton Buildings Finsbury
Great show... But they don't play "Nervous Breakdown"...
Saw them a few times about 25 yrs ago. Does Bill still sing?
Anna xxx - Some years ago: th-cam.com/video/VlLCExWIDnY/w-d-xo.html
bar band at best, but back then a bar band could make an album and almost make it. sadly, nothing original enough to break out of that bar band world. or is it sad? maybe they were happy chappies ! i hope so ! i loved Dirty Water. It's a classic, worthy of a re-envisioning.
I suspect this band profoundly influenced Jason & the Scorchers and Webb Wilder.
Hum... C'est Bill Hurley qui chante...
Rolling Stones tribute band.
Very bad recording
