It's hard to choose only 5 bass lines from the great Paul McCartney, but James, once again made an amazing lesson. I'm a little down because of the quarantine but this lesson will make my week happier. Thanks James.
The inherent creativity of the bassline of Day Tripper always astounds me. Especially since McCartney did not read music. He could speak music brilliantly - he just couldn't read or write it.
Right there with you except I was a fan of his a few years before you since I am a few (??) years older than you. I noticed something on the Come Together riff. Are you playing the high F on the G string by playing that note with the base of your index finger?
Excalant not just showing parat fation but applying it to expand our playing. Some day I just stick on random tracks and see if I can work it out last night roxy music cam on love is the drug and stick together, now thay were fun mad a pig ear of it but there good fun
Can you please do the bass lines of Bill Wyman? He’s not technically incredible but he has a way of sitting in the song and setting the groove. Almost the Ringo of bass playing
Thanks for sharing! If you have a second, we uploaded an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music lovers, we'd love if you'd check it out. It's on our page. Don't go too hard on us :)
Superb lesson thanks very much. Great to have the sheet music to. Brilliant

Now we know why McCartney used a short scale Bass...
Totally!

Haha!
Yes, you could barre it, or you could play it with the tip of your finger...
Yes, pick would have been cool :-)

Will definitely look into that! Cheers!
Also, forgot to add you should've used a plectrum! (pick) :)
Appreciate the suggestion! Will definitely look into that! Cheers!
Macca.. mr.melodic bass
Oh definitely!
I just saw this. I am a believer that you did the songs justice in teaching. But I think you missed one. Revolution is a key McCartney riff/song.
Another great tune! Cheers!
If I understood any of this, I wouldn't need lessons.
Why don’t you join the bass lab plus then you can start right at the beginning?

PICK! Only Paul is allowed to play bass with pick.
Haha!
No sir! Paul does not play with his fingers!
The Taxman bass line you played is not exactly the original one.
I did this lesson quite a while back and if I remember rightly there a few different variations of the bass line... so I just picked one.
