I think that was just a publicity stunt. He sung more U versions very cleanly post-this particular performance. It's very clear that he has some kind of throat problems, every member for that matter, every one sang with like phlegm,lol.
Ah HyeLim is such a sweetheart. she was with them since the start. she's the girl who' dancing with them over here and she's been wookie's most preferred dance partner since forever xD now she's training seventeen..and I can't be more happier at that fact than I am now ^^
I can understand how Heechul became haunted by this performance... Then it’s sad because he wasn’t the only one that suffered during that performance, Donghae’s voice was so strained, Eunhyuk could barely rap towards the end. The whole SUJU wasn’t at 100% despite the good performance. Yet, Heechul felt the wraith of the media the harshest afterwards just because of one voice crack. Sometimes I want to blame the media and SM for all the mistakes in suju’s history from Hankyung’s departure (due to SM mistreatment) to Henry (I’m still sad that he left) and Zhoumi’s harsh treatment back then. However, I know that blaming isn’t the right thing to do and history is history. SUJU despite all the troubles over the years is still standing strong and firm as one of the legends of kpop. Props to all of that. Suju fighting!

That time there were not much idols around. Super Junior was one of the most fully booked group. Everybody needed super junior. Every boss. Every TV station. Every commercial. Everyone is calling for them. They were overworked. They were everywhere. They didn't have time to rest. Nobody even cared. At all. This was one of the saddest performance to be memorized ever.
TBH in this performance everyone had their flaws, I think that the audience and entertainment circle were quite harsh on Heechul back then. It's understandable since the choreography is pretty extenuating to let them keep the control on their voices. Today you can see how far and professional they've become, it makes every ELF proud. :)
