Hi Gerald, thank you so much for reviewing the plugin! I completely understand that the using of preprocessor directives can be a little annoying, but unifying the API could be complicated because of how each platform handles things internally or even one platform lacks methods that the other platform has. On Android, for example, you can prevent screenshots but on iOS you have to make gimmicky implementations that may not even work. I'm currently working on a new version, that will include Windows support, some improvements and I will definitely try to find a way to unify the API. For people reading this, contributions and PRs are always welcome on the plugin 😁
Thanks for making it Fabricio! It’s awesome work! I definitely understand why it’s setup the way it is. I think personally I would’ve maybe done it a little different, but no worries! This plugin is still great, keep it up!
How do we go about storing data remotely in a secure way? Eg our app can be used by many people and they all have access to xx data. How is that concept managed? I don't know where to sore the data, how to store the data, and how o store it securly.
Kind of depends on what you want to do exactly. If all people should be identified it would make sense to build some kind of OAuth authentication on your app and also use that on the server-side to put and retrieve data.
I've been looking through your older video's and found the Firebase Push notification ones, would it be possible to do a follow up and use FireBase to achieve login with our Maui app using email password?
Hello again, Gerald. I am asking this here openly to see if anyone else has had this issue. I created the APK file and added it to my web project to make it available for download via a link. Clicking the link returns a 404, however. If you change the extension to .zip it downloads the file with no issue. If you or anyone else knows of a way to fix this issue, please let me know. Thanks again for all your work on these vids!
Hey Gerald, kindly make a short video on how to save the state of Xamarin page whenever application closes, and resume to the original state when opened.
Thanks! That is actually a great question haha. Some people contact me to let me know they created something cool and I am connected with a lot of people in the Xamarin, now .NET MAUI space so I think I found this one through a post on LinkedIn. But if you have anything I didn't cover yet, let me know!
@@jfversluis For example when user request minimizes the app, it cannot minimize without authentication. When user request minimize (or when click overview button or back button), it needs to authenticate using device authentication like using biometric, pattern or PIN. If authenticating success then can close or minimize.
If you have any plugins that I didn't cover yet. Let me know! I am going to do some controls like from DevExpress and Telerik and such as well, would that be cool?
This feature is really really cool! I'm sure banking/finance apps will benefit from this. Thanks Gerald for sharing it.
Oh yeah that will be really helpful in that scenario! Glad I could introduce you to this!
Can you do a video for secure MAUI app using obfuscation if possible. Thanks

I like the feature thank you. First!
Great! Did you ever need something like this?
@@jfversluis not yet, but it's noted here

@@jfversluis Thanks for the response. I'll have to think about it.

Definitely an interesting one! Not sure if I will get to that one anytime soon though, but I'll put it on the backlog!

I won’t be making any Xamarin videos anymore at this point, sorry!
The screenshot protection on iOS 17 wasn't functioning; do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
You probably want to report that to the library repository!
As usual you created again a really valuable video❤😊 if i may ask how do you find thouse plugins for maui?

Hey, Gerald Do you have any examples of, "require device authentication to close the app"?
Im not sure what you mean with that

@@SKIDDOW For iOS and Android I'm pretty sure this is impossible. And even if technically possible, this is probably a horrible user-experience.
@@jfversluis hmm then I need to find out another way. I'm trying to build an app that cannot close accidently.
Really cool!
Thanks!
Отлично. Мне нравится что ты обозреваешь подобные сторонние плагины для упрощения работы в net Maui. Продолжай в том же духе.😉

Good Job 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Just here for the gangster thumbnail. 😅
