Not the boss but a co worker kept reporting people for arriving “late” and being told repeatedly that the “late” arrived had worked late the day before, missed lunch etc made no difference. She was finally sternly warned to stop her behavior she refused. So she lost a high paying job with a pension and healthcare coverage because she had to be the door guard. By the way, we were all salaried workers and had worked there for many years while she was a new hire.☹️

My husband told me there was girl who worked at Kohl's who was a awesome employee for couple years (like 4-6). She was a cashier an people would use their Kohl's cash (the store's currency) on purchases on things as usual but when there would be like 10¢ or some small amount left on it the customers appearently would give them to her as a tip or tell her to keep the change. Anyway she kept all those Kohl's cash and it eventually got to like 8$ so she used it to buy a shirt or something. Thing is the Kohl's cash wasn't linked to her employee ID # so the system knew they weren't hers. Her employee # got flagged and, was fired for stealing. So if you work retail as a cashier and someone leaves you a "tip" just put it in the register or ask your boss first if you can keep it.

Not the manager, I'm actually an intern, but a month ago someone was fired for... a lot of things, actually. She was an awful employee who didn't work hard, but some of the highlights of her terrible work include delegating it to me (and even a couple of teenagers once while she left the property) whenever she could, streaming shows in the middle of the day, and sitting in her car, all when she was supposed to be working.

Not a manager, but a coworker (we’re cashiers) got fired yesterday. He kept missing shifts without calling, coming in hours late without calling, taking extended lunches (we’re allowed 30 mins, he would take an hour), etc. Well, my store manager finally gave in and fired him after his last warning. This is how their conversation went over text:
    Manager: [fires him]
    Coworker: 🤦‍♂️
No joke, all he replied with was the emoji.

A guy at my work (a local pizza place) quit/got fired like 2 weeks ago. He got extremely stressed for some odd reason and got pissed off at his 16yo coworker who was giving him a message from the manager. We were backed up just like any normal Friday and Saturday night. The guy just needed to make breadstick sauce. We had like 4 orders on hold because the guy was OCD with making it. 16yo asked him if he got the sauce ready for the orders. He snapped and cursed out first the 16yo who was only delivering a message and then to everyone else. He was asked to calm down and maybe just take a breather outside. Nope. He just wants to throw a tantrum. He claimed that no one was doing their jobs and that if they weren’t then why should he. He had a giant history of abandoning his shift and just clocking out whenever he got upset. On paper he quit so he can’t get unemployment, but if you asked anyone working there we straight up fired him. He’s a guy in his 40s possibly 50s. He usually gripe about how teens are useless and don’t do their jobs and are addicted to their phones. He frickin’ worked with teens at a minimum wage job where it’s most likely their first job ever and are learning how to function in a more adult role. He had extremely high expectations for all teens. Like if they didn’t scrub the entire store with nothing but a toothbrush, then they’re lazy. Not literally of course, but that’s how he acted. Not sure what he expected working at place that is supposed to be a starting job for teens. And that is the story of how I was able to massively increase my hours taking over his hours as closing cook.

I know its state by state but just because you quit DOES NOT disqualify you for unemployment. I quit a job, straight up walked in and tossed my keys on the bosses desk and walked out. 6 months go by, im thinking that since i quit i couldnt get unemployment checks. A friend told me i could so i applied. They turned me down i asked for an appeal. A referee came and had a meeting with me and my old boss. I told him everything. Couple weeks later 6 months worth of checks came. I tell people they will turn you down first time automatic but if you appeal the success rate is 90%. Never give up, never.

I had one dummy try to backstab me to my boss by telling her I was stealing from the company. My boss knew what she was saying was stupid so it didn't ever lead to anything. Prior to this, I had caught her stealing by ringing up an $800 phone bill calling a 900 number in an attempt to win a fur coat. I made her pay the money back out of her paycheck over the course of a couple of months. Then, I had another idiot falsify her time card by putting down hours she didn't work. When I caught her, she claimed she couldn't find a babysitter on the weekends so she couldn't come in, but she couldn't call me because I was "too mean". This was the same lady I had given my monthly commission opportunities to so she could better support herself and her son. No good deed goes unpunished.

I simply say “ I’m not doing this with you, you can either do what I’ve asked you to do or leave” they usually don’t last long after that lol but that’s their own doing.

I asked a new student hire to stop taking stuff off the shelves just to eat half the food and toss it (not paying for any of it in the long run). He was good about it for a week. Came in for my closing shift one night and he’s in the back corner with a stack of crackers, cookies and a honey bun. No receipt for proof of purchase, then he gets up and says he’s full before tossing everything. Never had I called the store manager so fast afterwards.

Not the boss who did the firing. But I was told what happened by my coworkers involved. Important note: I work in a hotel.
New manager hired on for customer service management. Seemed great at first but, over time, started bullying female employees and pulling 'pranks' around the place. What got him fired was the last prank. He managed to take the receptionist's cigarettes from her bag, slip out one and insert the explosive bit from a party popper in the end of it before returning everything to how it was.
After it went off on her while she was at home he realised his mistake too late and texted her not to smoke the cigarette, saying what he'd done but not apologising.
He was fired a week later as the prank was seen as potentially life threatening due to the receptionist regularly getting lifts home from her colleagues and boyfriend and she'd often smoke in the car. You see where that would go.

As I recall somebody tried to make some trouble about it but I explained to them that it was very old and didn't actually work which was a total lie.....anyway, it wasn't much of a big deal. A couple years later I'd progressed to making home-brewed firearms and explosives, stuff I'd probably do Federal time for these days......back then stuff like that was considered to be good wholesome American boyish activities.......it DID lead me down the path of enlisting in the U.S. Army Infantry, so there's that.

I hope you don't work with food or the like. If an employee has diarrhea, fever, vomiting, or a rash they need to leave immediately. You can't wait to "see if it happens again."

This applies to, umm, _way_ too many vid kids, so don't take it personally. but- - - enough with the piano music, already! I keep reaching out to turn it off, but can't. Grrr. ... Please?

Used to work at a hotel. They hired a guy who immediately impressed all of us. He even told me, "God got me this job." 1 week into work, he gets fired. Security cameras caught him walking towels from the laundry & putting them into his car. So, if God got you the job, why did you go against God by stealing?
