    Islam just said in a Russian interview, he stopped training 1 week before the fight coz he didn't wanna have the staph infection spread any further.
    So Dustin just got outboxed & got subbed by a guy who wasnt even training & has staph infection. Levels.. 😎😎

      Islam went to round 5 bloodied with a 36 year old guy with one hip on his way to retirement…

      @shrekonion7032 before 302: Dustin by gilly/ko
      After 302: Islam beat just beat up a washed Poirier
      Why am not surprised? lol

      Bro did not get out boxed. Coming from a boxer ilsam threw 1 2 with little power . And basically only putting punches out for points, as apposed to dustin who was litteraly throwing that leather and cut open islam and looked way better on the feet regardless of what the strike totals show

      Poirier did well on defending the takedowns in the center, an elbow in the fourth and some hooks to the body, I think this is the slowest sloppiest I’ve ever seen Poirier

      He really could have knocked him out for real. Islam is a great striker. I thought dustin would win by knock out for some reason... I thought he would fluke it... But Islam is a dog and I've said since the beginning that Islam has better striking than dustin

    I am so sad on Khabib performance. Throughout the fight he was so emotional and scream wrestle, wrestle, wrestle. Which I think harm Islam focus and confidence on standing.
    I think Khabib should let Islam box if he wants. Being emotional corner is not the right things to do.

    • @saljewsteinbergowitz
      @saljewsteinbergowitz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Khabib needs to stfu... He doesn't know what he's talking about. Islam loves striking and he's one of the best strikers in the ufc. He doesn't have to grapple. Khabib says this because Khabib doesn't have stand up skills, he's just a wrestler with a block head

    Maybe im wrong but like when youre talking about the edwards vs makhachev fight, you say that makhachev has a chance of winning cos he has been improving his boxing a lot. But idk how you don't apply the same thing for Poirier. What if poirier improved his takedown defence? Hes been working with gamrot for 6 months on grappling. Ik that gamrot is no khabib or anything but maybe poirier is better at grappling than when he fought olivera or Chandler

    • @BasedMMA
      @BasedMMA  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thats a very good point, Poirier did better at surviving on the ground but his technique is still the same if you rewatch his fights. Islam grappling is just different, even volk was able to stuff takedown in the rematch. The problem is that Poirier has regressed in what his strenght is which is boxing and volume. He was slower than ever
