@@lou-sz6xh you take control of a different player while the player you were just on is walking forward so its basically like you control a run. the downside is the player that you player locked FROM can only walk forwards and cant do anything except the obvious pass and through ball

literally same here, haven’t played rivals in like a month, went 10-2 in the cup. I think the more rivals we play, the more the game can track our ability level for skill based match making in friendlies, drafts and the rest

Yo Nick, always wanted to ask if you can try to cover cut-backs with the double R1 button, as it makes two of your players cover the two nearest opponent player in your box. Please try it if you haven't as i would like to understand if this is just a gimmick move or have EA really done something to help with those cut-back runs.
It's extremely helpful when you use it right. Just try not to hold it down for too long. It's a great choice on the edge so you can apply pressure to the ball holder without worrying about the pass into the box as much.
It's won't work all the time but you'll concede much fewer goals.
I’m in div 1 and average 16+ wins in weekend league, I can tell you that double tapping R1 when their even around your box is a game changer, but especially on the cutbacks like you said.

I wonder if we would enjoy the game more if it was more skill based like rocket league, now its just a mental challange. I am guessing we hate the sweat on Rivals Div 1 because the game decides who wins a lot, like tackles bouncing back, deflections, passing inconsistency, overpowered pressure, momentum etc
or maybe if there was rewards for losing but completing a match too
