Hey, John, I am a big fan of your walk-throughs. I did the whole Pico Practice Gym, so it is kind of cool to watch you work through the same problems, sometimes solving in a whole different way than did I. I never had a IRL steg case, but knowing how that works is helpful for things like encrypted blobs.

These short videos are great. Funnily enough I enjoy a bit of stego but that may have stemmed from a past interest in cicada3301 puzzles. I mainly use stegoveritas but might have to give zsteg a good look over. but i admit It is a fairly dull area of the industry, there's either something hidden or there isn't, and the biggest challenge is finding the right tool or method and there isn't much else to it, just hide and seek type stuff.

i like to take breaks from studying C++ and watching you makes me feel like im not being useless but i can't say i understand what you are doing , i understand what you are saying if that is enough, then i go back to studies, then i just basically for(int i ; i < 100000; i++) loopidy loop
what do i study next after i finish this 31 hour course? i was thing python or c# .....

Hi there. I know this is more directed at John, but I'd just like to provide you with a consideration before you make any decisions: You can think of everything to do with how a computer operates can be related to a tree-like system, such that Computer Engineering -> Computer Science -> Information Technology -> System Configuration (administration) -> Programming -> [Game Development, Web Development, etc.] / Information Security (a.k.a. Cyber Security) -> [Binary Exploitation, Web Exploitation, etc.] | where [->] denotes an expansion of the branch and [/] represents a division of that expansion.
So in essence, everything is interconnected, even if it's not directly related. Like knowing STDOUT is the system/application output in a shell/terminal isn't relevant to knowing DNS tells the network what IP address to connect to based on the associated domain. However, it may be useful knowing when developing the software that a DNS server uses. Because computers are such a rabbit hole, people either divide and conquer (higher up the tree - jack of all trades, master of none) which in my experience tend to be the IT bros or server admins, or they pick one they really like and master it (lower down the tree), then practice and apprentice in other branches of their choice which tend to be the programming or InfoSec peeps.
This explanation is not meant to drive you in any direction, but rather just to be informative in your journey since I wish I knew this when I first started. I'm just glad I picked the right direction for me, personally.

This came up in a video game community im in. There is a hidden xor encrypted QR code that has a lot of image noise inside the executable. I couldnt find anything yet on why the noise is there.
