I really doubt that this was the main reason for his rejection. Having your own home is definitely a plus and makes your application much more convincing. However, the policy clearly states that a rental contract is also considered as proof of residence.

Now, with pressure, 42 hours per week, 3 weeks paid holidays, a lot of travels from China to Europe because it's an Italian group... but double the salary (not include the annual bonus), as a manager, I have final decision rights (but the location is Beijing, pollution, too crowded city, not the same insurance... ) Pros and Cons... I made the final decision...

@@shenfrances Follow your heart... be sure you've gotten PR before go back, or at least, a long term residence card. You could "give up" when you can't survive the Chinese working pressure. If you just want a "simple life", you don't have ambition for your career. Don't even bother thinking go back to China. But now, more and more Europeans work in China. They are no idiot. (especially in R&D , Shenzhen for example, you are Dr/Phd, the local administration gives you at least 800 thousand for two years)
this permanent residence can save U the headache of changing ur residence permit every year, else i don't see the need. for kids schooling, if ur spouse is Chinese they can go public school. anyway most OF the foreigners won't sent their kids to public schools in China, but if they are poor. specially if u can find a school taught in ur language. im sure u can find school in English, French, german...etc today even middle class locals prefer private schools for kids so they can easily continue their education abroad.

现在有所谓”华人卡“，曾经拥有过中国国籍的海外华人因照顾老人而需要回国定居的，可以申请，基本上都可以拿到，类似于长期签证，住满5年后也可以申请中国绿卡，可以工作和参加社保，而无需重新取得中国国籍。及配偶和未成年子女也同样适用此条件

副高级职称就可以，这个对于中国人来说难度不高，混到资历就可以。但外国人想通过考试有不小难度，语言障碍 报考方式不一定给外国公民机会 和工作年限的认定 等等。
美国的话 副教授拿绿卡基本就只是时间和自己想不药的问题，即使没绿卡只要工作在 工作签证肯定不愁，学术机构的签证也不需要抽签。
中国实际上应该也差不多，除非政治理念和活动有冲突的那些人，只要愿意呆肯定可以一直呆。
你想太多，你要说哪个国家，中日韩都很难，中国比日韩都难。欧美的国家，基本都是工作几年没有偷税记录和信用不良记录就给发。
在美国你只要在油管坚持每天都能辱骂中国你就可以拿到绿卡🙃🙃

@@apexterror6331 也不是立马。5年里每一年至少在中国居住9个月。开始申请后还得排队毕竟每年还有限定名额。所以从你结婚到绿卡那一天分分钟要7年以上。

@@apexterror6331 不是不能住，可以申请结婚签证的。只是一段时间就得去办个手续很麻烦。有永住卡就基本没什么手续了。每次入境也不需要办许可之类的了。
