I've started designing my own designs (so much fun!) to practice and test my toner foils since I'm new to toner foiling. I think if you don't want to buy a laser printer due to budgetary reasons or space constraints, but want to toner foil, IMO save up for a MINC (skip the Starbucks and put that money in your MINC piggy bank). I tried foiling with a laminator called Foilmaster (laminator from That's Scrap) that had variable temp. settings and a max temp. setting at or slightly higher than a MINC's. I never achieved consistently perfect results with the Foilmaster. Got a MINC and I get perfect results every time. So far I've tried toner and duo transfer gel foiling. OMG the latter is like magic when you use an absolutely gorgeous stencil!
I don't have the room or funds for a laser printer. I have always used the toner preprinted sheets and I have been using these since they were introduced. A very nice addition.
Heard using the Minc plastic carrier sheet produces different results than Thermoweb paper carrier sheet. Thermoweb supposedly produces better results because the paper carrier sheet has a coating on the inside. You do the best reviews - honest & thorough! TFS.
Minc use carrier sheets. Laminator use folded copy paper or parchment paper. Has nothing to do with the actual foiling. Just helps to keep everything from curling & getting stuck in the rollers.
@@NancyStamps it’s not the folding. The Thermoweb carrier sheet has a silicone coating on it & supposedly that is what makes it better than the plastic carrier sheet.
Sue...it's parchment paper. Just like you use for baking. I don't see how that scientifically makes it better? Its just thin to help the heat go through the laminator and the toner/foil doesn't stick to it. You can use any folded paper as a carrier. The parchment paper gets wrinkled and thrown away after some uses.
It’s so hard to see on the Gina K one (maybe it doesn’t show well on the video) but it looks as if ink blending dulled the beautiful foiling you did. I was super impressed by all the detail. Both look awesome.
At 7.99 a pack, you would come out way cheaper to get a laser printer. I have a Brother laser that cost about 125.00. That’s 15 packs of preprinted stuff you may not can use. 🥰
Sorry I am very new to foiling, other than making, my sons wedding invitations, that is all I use foil for. NO I made raffel tickets for Easter :) what do you use the cards for?
I like the sentiments pack but don't like the layout of the page to make cutting harder. Gina K has Master Layout die sets so maybe she uses those to cut them out? I probably have some frame or label die that would work, but I think using my SCAN N CUT would be the best route as I also hate fussy cutting - not to mention I am lousy at it!
See above reply, there are dies for these sentiments as they were part of a monthly kit. The following month Gina puts the parts of the kit for sale individually…love that option!
@@NancyStamps @mari I didn't see them on GK's website but then I didn't spend much time looking. I will look again just to see what the options are. Thanks!
Thank You!
Thank you
Nancy I’m new to card making and foiling Watch your show all the time on TH-cam. And I’ve joined the foiling snobs club.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing

Yes!!! Amen sista!!
Thanks for this review, I was wondering about the polyglaze sheets.
Thank you Nancy!!!! Love your honesty!!!! You’re the BEST!!!!!!
I like foiling and I agree this is a great way to get into it! The designs in yesterday’s telease were awesome!!

Thanks Nancy, I was wondering about them 👍
Hello. Thanks for sharing. There is a matching die for the foil sentiments.
I wanted the Gemini Jr so I can start foiling with you girls and start learning how to use the toner foil that was sent to me.
The Gemini Jr isn't used for foiling unless you are doing Hot foil with the Foilpress machine. Different foiling system.
I can use it for embarrassing and die cutting right

@@NancyStamps per Thermoweb, their carrier sheets are a 30 lb coated silicone release liner.
Great video and information! Thanks for sharing!
There are dies available for the Radiant Roses sentiments. There are also stamps, stencils and an embossing folder for this bundle.
Thank you for posting this because I’m new to foiling.

Thanks Nancy, I'd been curious about the poly glaze. I had worried that it would splodge out like duo gel, but it's completely crisp

Agreed. It's not a better value. It's convenient.

Oh I make thank you cards & birthday cards all the time.
Since you have so much foil, you should just donate those to me. I love those colors!! 😂

Yes I was told there are dies. I didn't see them when I bought these at the show.

Sentiments originally came in a kit with stamps and dies. Dies are now available separately.
Ok good to know. I'll look for them
How often do you use your Scan and cut?
