I am from North-Eastern India. I love Mongolian History and Mongolian folk songs. I want to learn this beautiful language, but don't know where to start. Every time I read about the proud histories of 12th-13th centuries of mongols, I found the same spirit inside of me.
Ankur Jyoti I'd suggest you start from Cyrillic and it's much easier. btw there are some book about the similarities between Tsaatan (one of the ethnic group of people in Mongolia) and American Indian! so you may find similar image of your language and culture!
Javier Sandoval listen to Haya band they are Mongolians from inner Mongolia all part of the old empire you will here amazing female and male Voices in am mix of folk and rock. Hope you enjoy. I am from UK with Celtic roots and love all this traditional music from all over the world.
+Anthony Mack I know your comment is a year old, but isn't it crazy how evil they turned such a peaceful song? Not that I don't like the Civ 5 rendition though.
I live in the USA and most people just do not freely allow me to hear the sounds of my roots and culture... whatever... I will have the sounds of my heart anyway
Jimmy Freeman I was BORN in the US and I listen and flaunt culture anyway ... come on even gays flaunt their gayness so it’s ok lol And I do pledge the flag. I’ll pay my taxes with no problems. I will probably do something grand to serve the country I live in as well :) Hey um... bless you
omg, super awesome, i like it man i like it. the Mongolian and that beautiful music, so inspirational. i don't understand Mongolian language and i don't know nothing about the culture of this country even though i am feeling proud because our ancestors were from Mongolia. i would like me to introduce as a spirit of Mongolia. i love it..
Xian ZHONG Yes, I couldn't agree more. Mongolian script is graceful, beautiful and unique. Unfortunately it was replaced with Cyrillic under pressure of the Soviets during communist regime in 1940-ies.
evo3bro Yes, Cyrillic is easier to learn because it's simplified & spelling is closer to modern Mongolian. But reading traditional Mongolian today is something like reading Chaucer but pronouncing the words in modern English. But once you grasp the grammar its not too difficult to learn, it's similar to learning to spell English words.
I am a 19 year old american woman healing from the patriarch and remembering my voice. Your comment speaks deeply to me. Could you speak more on the shamanic energy of woman?
Хүнд гайхуулах ийм сайхан дуу хууртай эх орон минь сайхан шүү.

I think the traditional mongolian scripts are much more beautiful than Cyrillic...
Does no woman use Cyrillic???
Xian ZHONG aren't they trying to re-introduce it?
Xian ZHONG Yes, I couldn't agree more. Mongolian script is graceful, beautiful and unique. Unfortunately it was replaced with Cyrillic under pressure of the Soviets during communist regime in 1940-ies.
Lhamanda Lkha well cyrillic script was easier to learn than traditional mongolian script...

Can't stop listening to it! Bright and inspiring!
My parents actually named me for Ghengis Khan (middle name Temuchin). I can't speak for my namesake, but I, for one, approve. This is magnificent.

It’s a country between Russia and China in Central Asia. You can find it on maps easily. If you understand geography, it should be simple.

Technically, it's neither of those sounds, at least as they're said in English. Both are approximations. But yes, it's an awesome vid.
