I remember my grandmother putting apples in pillow cases and put them on top of the tin roof of her house and dried them that way. She lived through the depression and she and my grand father always keep way to much food.
I watched a video of how they dried apples and other foods during the war (WWII) and it was fascinating. We can learn a lot from the older generation, I think. Thanks for the comment.

I love dehydrated apples. did some a while ago. used some in tea. the others I ate as a snack.
I like keeping them around for a quick side dish or dessert.
