I have a 1991 10" lx premiere, which is an lx6 with an f10 optical tube rather than the horrible f6.3 optical tubes. I got it to replace my stolen c11/g11, and it was a straight across trade for the g11 tripod, weights and my guidescope hardware that the thieves didn't know to steal, so it was essentially free. It came with the dec motor and 4 or 5 of the old super plossls. The superwedge and fork in general is much harder to setup and transport than the c11/g11 which broke down into lighter components. It isn't quite the same but for the trade at zero.cost I cant really complain
I purchased an 8” Meade like 20 years ago. Very heavy and not easy to take anywhere. Sold it to my brother in law. It’s late in the a.m. and I can’t sleep. I want that telescope back. I believe, I may be wrong, that it’s an LX10.
I also have the same telescope, I wouldn’t trade it for the new ones . This telescope is like an old car. Well built and very little technology. The technology that I do have is on my iPhone which enables me to find stars and planets. Today’s telescopes are great but every so often with technology sometimes things break and then you have to pack and send it in for repairs. Love my lx 10 emc.
very interesting. I have inherited a Meade LX10 EMC, I've found the 20-page user's manual and I cannot figure out how to open the battery compartment. It is a 1.25"x2.5" black plastic door in the base of the telescope. I can see by the scratches on it, that the previous owner struggled to open it as well. The book, just says to open it. Any advice, please? Thanks.
Love your video. I bought an LX10 this weekend and is missing the declination motor cable, what type of male connectors does it use so I can buy one. Or if you could reply me with photos it the connectors that will be great. Or point me where to buy the cable. I done searches but without luck.
