    *We have taken it out twice so far and love it **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it only takes 5 mins to inflate. Seats are comfortable, kayak handles well. We love it so far!!*

    Greetings from the Original Bird of Prey guy! I thought your assembly was very nice. I also liked your use of the tape to centrally locate the strut. In my original I used a reducer to bring the tolerances very close and then put two bolts all the way through the PVC/strut at right angles to each other and separated by about two inches to add stability on both axis. The tape would make it even more of a close fit and the glue would seal it all up nicely. I think that would provide the security needed to lock the struts in place. Again, great job and I know you will have fun with your son.

      Hi Stephen! Nice to meet you. I'm Def not savy enough to figure out that coupling thing haha. I broke one of the flag pole holders on my last video. Operator error pushing the canoe into the water and one of the out riggers hit a rock and it wasn't that much pressure and it just snapped off. I'm gonna go for higher quality metal when I replace. They were pretty cheap, ones I originally bought. That being said I kinda liked the one out rigger. Without kids jumping around in it, it's pretty stable.

    Great idea, maybe an aluminium pole welded to the float end to make the T, low melt brazing rods? Easy and cheap but very strong.
    Love the build and the flag pole connect pure genius.

    THIS stuff is the best possible use of the internet - Nice work! - I have now seen 10 different ways to do canoe outriggers - will now take the best from each, have someone else do it for me and then take all the credit! 😂 something I realized about your design...there will NEVER be any real force trying to pull the floats OFF the pipe, so not much is needed there 😊

    From the blocks on the sides to the board crossing, you could use a 2 inch "L" metal brace. That way with wing nuts it could come on and off to put on car

    Liked the use of the crutches - cool. Also liked the flag pole mounts - but wonder how well these be able to will handle the side forces - usually made from pot metal. I may weld a couple up to be more secure.

    • @DeMarcheAdventures
      @DeMarcheAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! The crutches are built to be very sturdy for obvious reasons. Also they telescope if needed to go out further. The metal flag pole holders are holding up very well. My most recent video we hit some decent waves and the float even went under water as my buddy was leaning to the side and it all worked like a charm. Popped back up. The metal teeth in the flagpole seem strong enough. They are heavy duty aluminum. I'll do another video if anything breaks. I am going to upgrade the wood blocks that the mount screws into to a bigger block of hardwood instead of pine. I also drilled holes in the crutch so the flag pole screws screw directly into the crutch.

      @@DeMarcheAdventures Thanks -- Its wonderful to be able to repurpose common items like that. Its worth trying the flag pole mount - IF it ever breaks, then one knows to make it stronger, ...and if NOT - then one have saved lots of time. I really like the adjustable depth - so can adjust for conditions and number of people.

    Take a nother pice of pcv.pipe of a smaller are other pice of pipe smaller diameter and slide it between the two pieces that you wear taking about in 10 minutes into the video then drill a hole. Trow the two pieces of pipe to connect the pieces together i think would work better then felling the gap with. Glue are something in such.
