Cross map would mean the other side. Map wide would entail anywhere on the map. Cross ark would be different maps. It's quite literally called cross ark officially
@ never heard of Cross Ark being used, not sure where that official terminology you are saying is coming from, but if you want to get technical then you would need to say Across, if you mean that is the other side, and not cross.

I like building next to an obelisk and then setting up outposts next to the other two so that I can use them as fast travel points, right now on the center the blue obelisk is literally inside my base. The only problem with that is I'm limited strictly to walking distance from the obelisks, so I see this as unrestricted teleportation pre bosses from anywhere on the map
Your limited by your primary Linked storage box, which is often located at your main base, which has the same number of storage slots. So it appears once the slots are filled at any linked storage box, that's it.
Tribe mates can unless you find a way to limit access. In PvP folks are saying if another tribe can find all your linked storage boxes and destroy them, the last one will drop the contents.

If you put the linked storage on a blimp it doesn’t add weight and u cant lose anything if it gets destroyed

Yes, you can put a linked storage box on both, but the number of slots limit what can be transferred.
