Honestly, I veer away from saying "African" spirituality. Omenana and Odinani are pretty unique and detailed. I've extensively studied the Hebrew scriptures and culture. A lot of stuff matches up. It's the Greek origined Eurocentric Christian idea which demonizes Africa. But the source material for the book they (mis)use is more like "African" religion than most know or would admit.

When learning things like this, my brain just squeezes it into one ball like a crochet 🧶 and all i can really tell myself is “it’s all connected, it’s the same and not the same or it is the same but operate differently” instead of overreacting to my inability to think about it of off-head, i stay calm and draw out a pattern that explains how they are connected. Common sense just tells me that we as mmadu operate under the rule of this beautiful connection, everything we do is connected to something we did or something someone elsewhere is doing or has done. Any Good artwork, music, communication, collective thinking, Mathematics and so on is its connection. The reason for our reaction to beautiful things is because of how well they are connected and how well they complement each other. I do have one question, you used the phrase 'arushi of the land' at 45:51 you mentioned that the 'aro' served as activators of the 'arushi' of the land. In my research, I have come to believe 'arushi' is a foreign imported concept as it is not in alignment with the Odinani which does not believe in power residing in an inanimate object like the idea behind idols or amulets but rather use inanimate objects as symbols to something spiritual. I believe the term aru shi or alu si, kind of implied it was an aberration, almost literal translation of abomination poop. The Bible also talks hints a lot about contamination of traditional religions with idols and such. My question then is: Are you saying that it was the duty of the aro to activate these 'arushis of the land' or do you mean something different by the term 'arushi of the land' and why does it need 'activation' if it meant something else?
