In relation to insistance of Jay Rozanski, In some countries, sale taxes are included in the published price, so you have to discount them from revenues and margin calculations. He is probably an user from outside of US, not familiar with sales taxes in the US.

Great video! My question is this; How much money were you out before the income covered expenses? I know you ran at a loss the first 3 mos. does that mean you had to come up with over $40k before payouts were covering expenses?
I watched the video, I am not sure if this was a real business venture or just to show how things work on Amazon. I am not yet very experienced in Amazon sales but with my over 25 years of business experience, when I look at the summary statement I can see what was wrong; the cost of goods landed is about $10 a piece, and the cost of doing business (amazon fees) is another $10 per unit, and selling at $20 is an obvious losing status. I can say the original cost of the product was too high for a $20 dollar or even $30 dollar item to sell, without even getting into the other expenses. (BTW I am a JS user).
I love all your content but I would quibble that if you lost $5k the very first 3 months, then your practical start up costs are closer to $15k as that is what you would need to have in capital to "survive" until you were making money?

Here are my answers to your questions: 1 : Finding an existing brand/product, get them wholesale (discounted price) from the supplier/brand owner, and re-sell them on Amazon. 2 : You can if the product doesn't exist on Amazon yet. 3 : There's no guarantee but you should aim to be the or at least one of the buy box owners. 4 : One of the best reasons is you can offer 2-day shipping with FBA and it is one of the criteria to be one of the buy box owners 5 : There's no guarantee that they are both from the same warehouse. If they are, then it could be with the availability or shipping option that the buyer chooses. The first three months, we were minus, which is disappointing; however, looking past those three months, we then never went below $0 in our first year! Do keep in mind that this product was launched and managed alongside full-time jobs and their own Amazon Business!

Yes, in that case, all the revenue we were getting, we were covering the expenses of the product launch

Please note that $20 was the price when we sold the product at a discount. Now we are selling it at $32.99 😉

You can send them to a 3PL (third party logistics center) to get them packaged together!

It varies by the product type and category as well as the health of your account!
Normally, initial limit is 200 then 500 then 1000 and then it increase gradually.

We always suggest looking at the reviews of competitors to see what changes they'd like to see!
