Just realized Pierce rhymed "world" with "world" and then with "world" again, and then with "pearl"
He britta'd rhyming
Only he britta'd most of it
People can rhyme world with words that merely sound similar but aren't even spelt the same, rhyming world with pearl isn't exactly wrong
@@jareththegoblinking3191 My point was mainly he used world three times before changing it.
Well he did rhyme "thing" with "bring" before ending the lines with world. Then he rhymed "world" with "pearl" for the last 2 bars. Its still a rhyme scheme and isn't exactly out of place in the flow of the song
Yep, I always thought the first "world" should've rhymed with "...all that I bring to every boy and girl".
Can we please take a second to appreciate how well Donald and Danny’s voices blend and sound together?
ikr! like obviously Donald's a great singer, but Danny's voice really surprised me in this clip. it's expressive, pretty, and i love the accents the both of them put on lol
Loved the Chuck Berry impression Danny did
The first section of their song with their voice blending so well, I was hoping for a longer version. Donald Glover has range but Danny's low voice was awesome.
Childish Danpino
“Baby boomer Santa thank you for MTV-eee” hits so hard why does that harmony sound so perfect!
That is what I thought of and why I clicked on this clip lol
It's not harmony
i dont know why but i love it too
I know right? I had that stuck in my mind for weeks! It just goes so well with that riff. I wish that were a full song
i thot it was a tv
now it sounds more like MTV when i replay it
This is one of the most memorable moments of the show

Exactly the opposite of their characters :O Amazing I never noticed this over 8 watchings
All three monkeys
Danny Pudi’s leg dance thing with the fro during the 1970s part is so perfectly cartoonish, it’s really incredible
Someone once pointed out Troy's exit at 1:00 and now it's all I can ever think about in this scene

Abed looks more like a cartoon character than a real person during the 1970’s verse and dance and I’m obsessed with it

Also, I have a feeling that it's some sort of phallic joke.
1:57 Annie almost broke down to tears. God, Allison Brie is a fine actress
She is doing the Disney face
just trying to lure them with her Disney face
somehow chevy chase's raspy voice makes this song even better
The song is catchy and also a great showcase of how marketed nostalgia is basically screaming random concepts until the generation you’re pandering to says “haha I get that reference”
It's a real shame about Chevy Chase. He adds such a great dynamic to the comedy that I miss in the later season.

Here are the lyrics:
Santa Claus was born in 1945
He had a boogie-woogie Coca-Cola army jive
And when the Commies gave the polio to Doris Day
Santa helped the Beatles chase McCarthy away
That Baby Boomer Santa:
He's never gonna die.
Santa fought at Woodstock and Vietnam
And smoked a ton of acid and burned his bra
And then in 1970, he did more drugs
And his hair stayed long and he... grew a mustache
Baby Boomer Santa:
He's gonna stay alive.
Santa invented Spielberg and microchips
Santa invented Coca-Cola and aerobics
He made the Iron Curtain and the Gremlins 2
Fake butter and AIDS and Twin Peaks!

Donald Glover's Bob Dylan impersonation is really good
this scene is literally EVERYTHING. i love troy and abed so much and donald and danny have amazing singing voices
1:00 Troy is so invested going back, its hilarious xD
Glee literally means
*GLEE!*
This is so great. Troy and Abed singing in the styles from 40s to 80s while we see Pierce getting continuously into it until he can’t hold back.
in this case until the 90s, since Twin Peaks was not filmed until then
My favorite thing is the more you pay attention to the lyrics the less they make sense lmaooo "santa fought at woodstock"
"He made the Iron Curtain and Gremlins too. Fake butter and AIDS and...Twin Peaks"
Okay, first of all, I love how they have the piano guy from Glee and an actual grand piano in the study room, and yet the entire song has like four seconds of piano in it. (the bugle boy 1945) also, I just noticed that Troy says that Santa "fought at Woodstock" and "smoked a lot of acid", my man really has no idea what the hell was happening back then, did he?
Same with Abed’s “Commies gave the polio to Doris day”
That's the best part of the song. Troy and Abed know enough to sing about people and events from each decade but are clueless beyond the names.
abeds 70s dance, afro and moustache plays in my head at least once a day
“You guys all see him too, right?” Pierce is so good
Okay but Baby Boomer Santa actually slaps
Ahhh. Chevy Chase. Even playing Pierce, he has a certain charisma about him.
Troy and Abed deserved a Grammy for this.
Fun fact: Chevy Chase has perfect pitch.
That piano guy has got to be one of my favorite unnamed minor characters in the show
Apparently he's a parody of Brad the pianist from Glee

Wish they made a studio version since this is really really good they could probably extend it a little bit
If only Chevy had had the right attitude and stuck at it, maybe he would've gone to the levels of awesome that Always Sunny enabled Danny DeVito to do. Because he absolutely crushed it in the early seasons and it was such a loss when he left.
00:42 "Pierce! They just try to pander to your demographic's well documented historical vanity"
This episode has one of my most cherished homages.. Invasion of the body snatchers. Simply genius.
All the Christmas episodes are so iconic
The faces and voices and movements Donald and Danny are amazing like just perfect. They’re also surprisingly good singing together here
I just love the people dancing with all of the props, especially with the disco globes.

idk why but i loved the beginning bit of the song when Troy and Abed sang together:)

I see why Pierce never seems that interested in Christmas. His last family was quite insane on Christmas, especially his awkward cousin Eddie.
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this episode over the years I am dying of laughter by the time Abed says "good point...sing about it?" straight til it ends
