Makes me so happy when Americans enjoy the European parks so much! 😍 Also that little fruit you found was a Hagebutte... or rose hip... you can make jam or tea from it!
CAN WE APPRECIATE THE 25 MINUTE MASTERPIECE OF A SOUNDTRACK?!?! IT'S SO GOOD Come on even the Smiler Soundtrack can't hold up with that epic insane Soundtrack.
Those berries at 46:00 are called Hagebutten in German and rose hips in english. They're mostly used as ornamental bushes to line pedestrian walkways nowadays, but you can use the berries to make jam. But they're most popular among kids who pluck them on the way to school or back, peel the berries open, take out the seeds and stuff them into the back of their friends' shirts which causes an annoying itch.
WORLDS TALLEST DROP TOWER? that's so scary, but I'd have to get on it! Karnan's little silliness would be so insane to go on it, maybe one day in the far future! 338 feet is still insane for a drop tower. You yawning during the beginning of lap 2 took me OUT. dude the America sections of other parks are always so insane feeling what people think of America from the outside ☠ The loop from Nessie going around the track is absolutely crazy. I wish there were more interactions with coasters like that in the US. LMAO YOU TRYING THE BEET IS LITERALLY ME. Iced coffee looks delicious no matter what it is. thank you for the vlog Alex
These themed sections are always playing with stereotypes a little bit. The section shall represent the wild West, which was very popular in Europe when those parks with theming came up (also so called "western" movies where very popular in the 80's and 90's), so always every themed park has such a section. They are often one of the oldest part of a theme park today.
Really fun to watch your video, came in randomly in my timeline. The Hansapark is my "homepark" as i live near hamburg and it is just one and a half hour by car or train from my place. I have a season ticket for now the seventh year i guess. It is a really lovely park and the development ist really great the last years. They built Kärnan, the Slyfly Kärnapulten that protects the Kärnan, the rethemed the "Nessi" (the looping coaster). Nessie ist a piece of coaster history. It was opened 1980 at April 24th. So this coaster is older then 44 years now. It is a "Schwarzkopf" coaster. The company went bankrupt in 1983 and many patents and ideas went to Intamin (built Taron e.g.) and the construction yards and buildings were bought by Gerstlauer (Kärnan, Fluch(t) von Novgorod). Nessie got it's own Tartan (A Tartan ist the scottish pattern on the flags and wall hanging flags within the coaster station) and it is registered at The "scottish register of tartans" which means, that No one is allowed to call it his own pattern anymore. The park (Hansa is a similar to Hanse) is build first around the theme Hanse. The "Hanse" was a merchants alliance for growth and wealth and the cities in northern europe from the middle of the 12th up to middle of the 17th century. The buildings shown in the entrance area (you went into the park through the Holstentor, which original ist to visit in the "Hansestadt Lübeck" near the Hansapark, then there was the buildings from Danzig (nowadays in Poland) and also Novgorod, today in northern Russia was part of the "Hanse". So probably this is also an explanation, where many ideas of theming in this park came from. One really good hint from me: If you can manage to get to the "Herbstzauber" event in the park (around the last two opening weeks in autumn, mostly the last two weeks of october), the park ist open until 9pm and the rides close around 8pm to 8:30pm. The ride of "Flucht von Novgorod" is next lvl then. If you get launched and don't see the exit in the evening, because it is already dark outside and then go over the first hill and see the park with all it's lights in and so.... So cute... so wonderful. I don't have really a channel here, but if i had, i would show some fotos there. Ok, sich a long, long text... Happy you enjoyed my "homepark". 🤘😊 Keep up the good work!
One thing about the long wait for the drop of Highlander, that has everything to do with the Nessie roller coaster. When Nessie is in the helix, they are not allowed to drop Highlander and you have to wait.
This blog came out just in time! I have a baseball travel team tryout and practice for the first time with a team who has been together for years and I’ve never met them before 💀 this video made me feel a little better so Thanks Alex!
There’s one thing you need to know about the weather in Europe. ALWAYS pack some long pants and long sleeves/sweaters. You never know when it’s gonna rain lol
YES! Hansa Park is such an awesome Park. I'm so glad it's getting more attention these last few years! 8:30 I just love that probably everybody who has been on the coaster and hears them talk, is just like "Oh, just you wait >:)" I know I have been that person xD 22:58 Fun Fact: Before Nessie was themed like it is today (and in your video) it was just an open station, like you'd see on any touring Coaster. They had a speed "radar" in the loop to massure how fast each train went through it and in the station, there was a little monitor you could read your speed from, once you got back to it. If I'm not missrembering things, your speed could (and still can) be between 70kmh to 85kmh. (Just thought of that, because I saw the cut in the onride video😄) Also: telling anyone who hasn't been on the coaster yet, to cover their ears is mandetory! /hj 38:18 So, yeah, the cue is setting up that those kids in the box want to go see this famous adventurer and storyteller (forgot his name) but aren't allowed. They sneak out anyway and hide in that box to hear his story. The first round is setting up the adventurer beginning his story, on how he sailed out to sea and had to fight "Die Schlange von Midgard" (the sea serpant animatronic outside) on his way to Midgard. The second round his him finnishing his story with an Happy Ending and discovering the hidden kids. I absolutly adore this coaster! Sure it's not quite the same thrill as Kärnan but it just runs so smoothly, espacially considering it's older than Kärnan. I also love the layout and wished there was a longer version of it! 47:38 Fun Fact: If you stop at this time stamp, you can see a little "cut out" in the pillar on the left becaue the front row train roof wouldn't fit through this narrow turn otherwise xD 54:09 An American being amazed by a simple door lock and it's key is very funny to me, thank you! xD (Sorry had to get a jab against US Americans in here somehow😉) This video was so much fun! Hope you enjoyed your stay in germany! :D
Lol Jeff is literally me on rides like I ride them but I will be terrified. On that drop tower I won't mind going up but when it had tilt so u facing ground, bro my stomach was not feeling it 😂. Awesome video!!!! ❤lol I feel u on the beets, I can't stand it with a passion
just a quick spell correction 😉 it's "Schlange" ( you wrote "schalnge") 36:30 otherwise great video really enjoyed it 😊 btw Hansapark was the first theme park I've ever been to when I was little, it really holds a ton of memories. 😂
Kärnans queue really does not help when you try to get somebody on the ride that is a little bit fearful of rollercoasters :D anxiety levels are rising
Nice one again! Only you forgot to add this one to the playlist of your European slaycation. So I thought Walibi Netherlands was the last one so far in the series. 😅
Haven't been to Hansa Park in a long time and a lot has changed in the last 20 years or so. Your video made we wanna visit again. 54:40 I hate Königsberger Klopse 😀My grandma was born in Königsberg and had to flee at the end of WW2 (Königsberg is now Kaliningrad, Russia). I just wish she would have left her recipe for those behind. She really loved them and made them very often when we visited her. I took all the capers to the side and then it was at least ok. But whenever I missed one and accidentally bit it, it would send shivers through my whole body and make me tense up to muster the courage to swallow it. Capers are just so vile...
When we were on kärnan, I had a girl next to me who almost lost her hair tie on it. In the brakerun, she pulled it out of her hair and hold it in her open hand. I said "hold it tight". She looked irritated at me. I said again "hold it tight" snd she was "woahhh" 😅
WAIT. you are not going to portaventura? 😢 well Im sad because Im from spain and Im a very big fan of portaventura and i thought you would go to portaventura :’)
Me personally am not the biggest fan of drop towers they actually make ball up and hang on for dear life the only one I think I'd be able to do is falcons fury

@@emilianogallwgos9949 I felt the same way. I think they were not used to people at the park who didn’t speak German as well so the extra language barrier made it more difficult. I had originally elaborated on the situation a little more in the vlog but I decided to cut it out because it’s such a small incident. It doesn’t matter that much and I decided to just focus on the fun bits from the day

As a season ticket owner i can't really follow this. I always have nice talks with the crew on "Novgorod". The old one (often operates the Nessi never talks anything, but that's ok to me. And also the ops at crazy mine etc. are cool. Interesting, that you have a totally different experience.
