Yes, they are talented, but its just not serious basketball. Not serious preparation, basketball knowledge and iq. To let anyone to score 71 on you, i would stop playing basketball. Offense and defense are 2 parts of basketball which should have the same value. Nba is adjusting all the rules in favor of offense, so the players and teams can score more. Thats interesting only for average fans with no basketball sense and knowledge. This has to be changed. It ruined the sport.
That is arguably true but as others have pointed out, the NBA rules heavily favor offense and the stats are somewhat inflated, not to take anything away from all of these incredible players. The Bulls coach is trying to race Monty Williams to see who gets fired first lol. Heck of a performance from Mitchell, but that game-tying put back from his missed free throw shouldn't have counted. It was a clear lane violation at 5:26. The shooter can't go over the line until it hits the rim.
The 70 point mark has been passed 12 times in NBA history. 6 of those times were Wilt Chamberlain. He averaged over 20 rebounds during these games This was an era when carrying, travelling and charging were called much more strictly than today and there was no 3 point line. There was no “Shaq” circle under the basket to allow offensive players to commit offensive fouls at the bucket. Unlike in Jordan’s era, the zone defence was completely allowed, no isolation. The 3 second rule was strictly called. Chamberlain (unlike Star players from the 80s on) was actually given LESS consideration on getting fouled by referees who considered him to be too dominant. There were no high tech shoes. There were no PEDs. The teams sometimes traveled in busses to games.
