Ive made a lot of custom stuff for myself but i have trouble making duplicates of the same knife over & over. I can see why people charge so much. Quality customs cost $$$, obviously theres a level where things get a little silly but if you dont have a factory it isnt cheap to make this stuff. If it takes me a week to make a knife then thats possibly a whole week of 10-12 hour days drawing things out, standing in front of a forge & an anvil & beating on hot steel. If that piece is all i worked on all week then what i would sell it for would be my paycheck for the week & thats not counting cost of materials if you want a special steel etc. Cool stuff is expensive.
That is an absolute fact brother. At some point I'm going to do some smithing there's a couple of places around here where I can go in at least learn the basics I think it would be good for me and the channel just give me another look. I honestly have zero desire to make or design knives but I would love to understand the process I think that would put me along the right track for where I want to go
@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors Absolutely a good idea imo. Tbh anyone who is interested in blades could benefit from learning. Especially when it comes to appreciating the work that goes into it. Not just for us but for our ancestors who had to fig all this stuff out through trial & error. Gives perspective, besides if you really want something that nobody makes you can make it yourself.
This is exactly it. And what a lot of folks might not be aware of is this: when we contract w/ SHADE - you're literally getting to have the absolute best bladesmiths in the entirety of INDONESIA working on it! He's one of the leaders of the Indonesian Bladesmith's Guild. He gets pick of the litter on who he works with. This guarantees a certain level of quality for all CARNIVORA products produced through him that is unreal, and we're supporting a proud military ally of America. Also! Tim Ellis is mentioned here. He heads up Ellis Custom Tools and is not only the lead prototyping engineer for CARNIVORA, but he's helping build a series of small batch production facilities with me and our team that'll allow us to build not only an American arm of CARNIVORA from a production point of view that'll be able to adhere to ISO, Berry Compliance, and many other certifications that foreign products won't qualify for. On top of this, we're even going to be bringing Shany into CARNIVORA as a designer to make American made, Indonesian engineered blades as a way to thank Shany and his team for their ceaseless hard work and incredible work ethic. I couldn't be prouder of the team we've built. And I appreciate people like you who understand the price tag that comes not only with quality, but experience, and small batch semi-custom to custom. I know our stuff is expensive, but it's certainly not the most expensive stuff out there by a long shot. Something not talked about enough though, is that we offer up to 4 months in house layaway with zero extra fees, sezzle, paypal pay in 4, paypal credit, and numerous other pay overtime options. I can't psychologically handle dropping 1000 smackers on a knife myself, so why should our customers have to?

Facts!
