Hey FAM thanks for rocking with us 🤓 We will be checking out the BAEPSAE Explained real soon. Wanted to try to interpret it for ourselves first but definitely will be watching Explained by a Korean real soon. More to come 👍🏼😉
You should absolutely react to their Intro performance here - th-cam.com/video/hoTBL39i60M/w-d-xo.html They created the dance for a special performance (2014 Gayo Daejun, a year-end performance with multiple artists), and the camera work was so bad that Big Hit made that video to show the whole performance with multiple camera angles and everything. Best shade-throwing ever.
Exactly!! It's really hard to translate things in a way that everyone can understand in their language (I speak spanish) but at the same time maintain the structure or the message they're giving and the guys from DKDkTV did an excellent work with the explanation
Yeah but this argument has been going between boomers and millennials way before that meme since the early 2000s. Idk if its a new thing for Koreans though.
@@WhatchaGot2Say To be honest, there are compilations of dance breaks only and hip thrusts only. Bc if you thought that dance practice was intense, you haven't seen live hip thrusts. 😂
Everytime someone reacts to the lyrics for this I can't help but say you have to watch the explained because it makes so much more sense and you miss the impact of the song without the context and the korean idioms. I'm glad you already have it on your roster :3 and you did a great job with your own understanding from the lyrics

It's a a shame the hip-thrusts, as sexy and as awesome as they are, have kinda overshadowed the serious F.U. this song actually is! Which is amazing coming from a Korean group, because respecting your elders no matter what is a HUGE cornerstone of their culture. You don't question. You don't talk back. You use formal language. You bow deep. Watch carefully how BTS interacts with each other. When Suga Hyung gets serious, and tells one of his younger brothers to jump, they JUMP. (Jin doesn't pull the Hyung card as often, but when he does, watch what happens.) Truly one of the many reasons BTS blew my mind when I was learning about them. That and N.O. are their hardest-hitting jabs at their society, IMO. And they were still only teenagers or barely out of their teens when they made these! These guys had serious guts to do what they did and to say what they said. No wonder they got so much hassle at the beginning. They will always have my upmost respect!
I don't see the hip thrusts as "sexy", instead they are a literal dance-move representation of "F*ck You". Despite the harsh messages about society they send out, the music always seems to be more upbeat and doesn't overshadow, more like contrasts, the messages. Take for example Spine Breaker, they soften the blow with fun music.
When you see the lyrics, "the teachers know it all", it refers to the truth that teachers in Korea, whether elementary, middle school, high school or university, are revered above anybody else in public service. Teachers are regarded on the same plane as the highest religious priests or the very top politicians. I think this is a by-product of the Confucian heritage, where the teachers and the wise ones upholding the "correct" social order ranked the highest in respect and authority. What a teacher says GOES in Korean society and it is basically blasphemy for any student to question a teacher's wisdom. The education system in Korea is starting to be demonized on many levels and BTS is (I think) the only K-entertainment group that has been calling out the injustice of this hierarchy. Also, witness the recent k-drama "Sky Castle" for exposing some ugly truths about the education system.
The fact that even now, with them being so successful, they still perform this, shows they are never going to forget where they came from, being the underdogs in the industry I love this song so much!
Something I’ve noticed when watching “Baepsae” is that, EVERY SINGLE TIME Suga gets ready to that hip thrust, he tugs his shirt sleeves up slightly. EVERY TIME. It’s how I know it’s about to happen 😅 he’s my bias, so I always look for him in their performances. I’m sure the others have their own little quirks as well; and this isn’t to make fun. I absolutely adore him. It’s just a cute little thing that caught my eye.
Side fact to everything else: this is one of the best examples of Jimin’s EPIC turnout. Near-5th position every time! I also love how his training comes out in how he crosses the floor dragging his feet. If you pay close attention in all the choreographies, he’s the one crossing the most distance across the floor through the whole thing. His background enables him to hold his core well while covering distance, and he does it EFFICIENTLY as well. DANG I admire that guy.
You have to watch Baepsae live! There's nothing like it. You get fantastic energy from all the members. Plenty of hip thrusts lol. Also an amazing solo dance from Jhope himself. It's a must-see!
@@WhatchaGot2Say I recommend this one because it's shot pretty well and it's the full song th-cam.com/video/ggSR6h0ngek/w-d-xo.html here you go! :) They also did this as apart of the BTS medley during the Love Yourself tour so here's a fan cam of that. th-cam.com/video/9PNaPwtGqHg/w-d-xo.html Jhope's solo dance is different in this one but worth watching even outside of the reaction because it's pretty epic! Also the hip thrusts...
Hobi goes crazy with the hip thrusts when they perform this live, especially when in the US, where it earned him the nickname of Jay. Fun fact: they had to tone down this dance when they performed it recently in Saudi Arabia! 💜💜💜
I was blown away when I actually read the lyrics for the first time. Love how BTS isn’t afraid of criticizing society. Love seeing the three of you guys, you all nice keep going!!
Omg you guys have watched so many bts dance practices💜💜React to bts funny moments like namjoon being done with bts video or bts on interviews like Ellen,Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. Also check out baepsae explained by a korean video
hmn i always think their choreo really matches their songs well. in baepsae they have a lot of elegant arm movements that goes up, kind of like how birds stretch their wings to fly. Also they stand on one leg a lot in the choreo and then sway as if they're losing balance which can represent the stork standing on one leg and the older generation losing their standing. Also i view the hip thrusts as "suck my d" to the older gen lol
Glad to hear you guys will be checking out the Explained video, it was really helpful in explaining the whole "stork" and "crow-tit" analogy, as well as the bit about "effort" in V's part and what J-hope refers to in his verse as "passion pay". Basically, it's a VERY blunt criticism of the older generation for their expectations of the younger/Millennial/GenZ generation, expecting younger people to constantly work for low pay and little recognition. It's the first BTS song I really got into, due to the lyrics and meaning, and the dance practice is funny as hell.
Thanks for mentioning the explanation video. I'm always excited to see others reaction to it. Enjoyed watching you all head bopping while reading lyrics. 💜
I love your reaction, guys, it's really good to see how you became Armys in the process of knowing the boys, I appreciate a lot the way you give a 100% attention to the details, trying to understand everything is hard and you guys seem to be doing pretty well👌 I wasn't that good when I started 😅
The lyrics when suga did that funny leg move that reminds you Drake: I HAVE A CROW-TITS LEGS AND YOU HAVE A STORK'S LEGS. THEY ALL SAY THEIR LEGS ARE WORTH A MILLION BUCKS
Baepsae was written years ago, but I find it so relevant even today. It could be applied to so many situations: Bts vs. the Music Industry, today's youth against the Boomer generation who looks down on us and thinks we should have our shtt together, but they're the ones blocking us, could be Bts vs. the previous generation of K-idols who used to look down on them, and so on. I think one of my favorite things about Bts' music is that most of it doesn't get old and doesn't get dated. It still applies, no matter the year or your age. Voice of our Generation, TRULY.
I love Baepsae! I have watched this dance practice so many times and thought I noticed already many details. Thanks to your reaction I now know even more! Love your channel! 💜
yes, BTS loves and enjoys what they're doing that's why ARMYs are very happy! this dance practice is not too serious but it's very lit and i always don't want it to end! they got so much swag yet they goof around. notice how they're all over the place yet they still trust each other to be in the right position hence still finished the choreogrqphy perfectly! BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!
I'm living and teaching English in mainland China. Over the years I've taught all ages, from five year olds, to college students to adults, and I swear rock, paper, scissors is the way they make any decision or solve any disagreement! My parents back home often host Malaysian students, and it's the same with them. Totally an Asian thing!
I’d like to point out how you guys are always impressed by how close BTS are and how much fun they have together. I like how close you guys are and how much fun it looks like you guys have making these videos together. Your cohesive energy adds to the videos. Thanks for that

Hey guys! You know I'll he hitting up the comments when I see my fav reactors reacting to one of the best song to dance to. If no one has mentioned yet baepsae is a small legged bird, or a crow tit I think it's called. If you want to understand the song more there's an explained video on dkdktv channel of what this songs meant interpreted by a Korean cause this song really has a lot of double meaning. Definitely should check that out guys for you to grasp the full meaning of the song. I could go on but what's the fun in that. Nice to see Adam and Blaze again with you Nico. Have a great day!
Armys love, love this song and for a while, you could only see them perform it at a concert, so when they finally gave us a dance practice, we were so happy and excited. Hoseok did the choreography and in the end, he usually dances the solo, but since Yoongi lost, he had to do it. If you haven't seen them perform it live, its a must. They're kind of playing around here.
You guys pretty much got the basic gist of the song. The explanation video will fill in all the specifics that relate to the Korean culture, like certain references. All I'd add is that the choreography is also meaningful. Their hip thrusts aren't just fanservice, it's them saying "stop busting my balls". And I'm glad you guys picked up on the bird-like movements and the odd dancing emphasizing the length of their legs. It is all important to the meaning of the song.
Just wanna let you know, I hit the like button the moment I start your videos! I don’t have to wait until the end because I know I’ll enjoy all your reaction! You all are so great!
I love how you react to videos! It's literally the best!!!!!💯💯 not only do you react to the MV, you react to the lyrics and dance practice all seperately. You guys try to understand their message instead of their look! Respect. Not many reactors do that 💜💜💜💜
This rehearsal/dance practice is nothing like when you see it live... I'm still shook by the performance and that was last year. Every once in a while, it'll pop up in my head and I'll go "damn".
Hey Adam and Nico as well as Blake ! How are you all? I will recommend you to watch come back home + no more dream + mic drop video. I hope you all like it vocal as well as choreography
It's multi layered... Baepsae(crow tit) was something people used to call them coz of their humble beginnings. These are tiny birds. They took it and owned it. It's even mentioned in Suga's verse, comparing them and storks, who apparently have stronger, more valuable legs. The song is also calling out the older generations for their expectations and looking down on the younger ones. For not acknowledging their hard work and just ridiculing them.
I love this song. I felt like the next generations were saying yea we got it. I'm a auntie (of 10 nieces & nephews) & a single mom(1 child) & I always make sure they're on the right path when they're facing the reality. I got itfrom this lyric they can do better & speak louder. And then....I listen. Silver spoon yes indeed!
I will say, not only does DKDKTV explain it, but their translation of the lyrics is way more cohesive and coherent for English speakers. But this is a great video with awesome reactions, and interpretations nonetheless!
I just don’t have the “words”....ahh! OMGBECKY! The three of you with your heads together movin to the beat was hypnotizing...hilarious! What a great pick guys! You know it with the lyrics man! I’m working out in my head that Yah there is that expectation of this generation and that is that they are supposed to fix the world. I’m so glad everything has meaning with these guys. You tooooooo! Thanx! Fun Guns!
Nice reaction as always. I like that you watched the whole practice vid and not skip the intro. I also like that you understood that Suga lost. =0p This is funny but the song is so deep and powerful. -baby ARMY NY USA 💜
I know you guys have watched the Halloween version of war of hormones dance practice. Look at the real war version the guys are acting like fools while dancing it is hilarious
Since i saw your channel it is the first time i see a video immediately it was here!!!! I love your reactions!!! I love when you are together reacting!!! Thanks for doing this!
This is one of my favourite dance practices and overall videos to watch. The choreo is slick and fluid and the boys are serious yet having a good time. The end with Suga twerking is just icing on the delicious cake.
My favorite song tbh!!! You guys have to watch the explanation by DKDKTV Nico. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 And that tag was my fave as well. The meaning is amazing too. About Baepsae (crow tits, try hards) which are the small birds that try to catch up to storks. BTS has always been called try hards since their debut and this is double meaning to get back to those people, and also shows the hardships of millennials vs gen X.
This is one of my favorite songs of them ,because they are openly defying society expectation, and the pressure of always being the best at everything. More so in Asian cultures

I love how much you guys appreciate BTS!
I am fantastic!! Thank you for asking.
For not acknowledging their hard work and just ridiculing them.
lmao love this song and dance, quite literally *f*** the system*
Ive been looking for BAEPSAE reaction everywhere.... That HIP THRUST .. I can't 😭😭 one of my fav dance 😘😘
Stayed up just for this video. Much love from UK!!
BTS Army LOVE💜💜💜 Sorry it took so long. MIKA and I went out for pizza 🤓
@@WhatchaGot2Say It's all good Niko! Hope you enjoyed it 😀😀😀
Blaze often has the most insightful comments on imagery meanings.
Baepsae is my favorite BTS song. I love this dance so much 😄💕
A good dance to react to would be the Save Me + Im Fine live stage/ lyrics
I love going back and watching your old reactions.
This is like their "OK Boomer" anthem.
Can you please react to DNA dance practice 💜💜 BTW love your reaction and maybe things you didn't notice in bts dance practices💜💜
I will say, not only does DKDKTV explain it, but their translation of the lyrics is way more cohesive and coherent for English speakers. But this is a great video with awesome reactions, and interpretations nonetheless!
I love watching you guys react, it always brings a smile to my face.
Watch Baepsae explained by a Korean!! It will explain everything!!!😏
TH-cam says I haven't watched this. Okay, cool, lemme rewatch the journey of you 3 falling even more into the ARMY life!
Thanx! Fun Guns!
They say it’s basically big companies or their “Seniors” all tattle the juniors or the small companies
hahahahahahahhahaha I love there own made choreo........ Army's are so proud!!!
He already did on his own time. 💔
Since i saw your channel it is the first time i see a video immediately it was here!!!!
I love your reactions!!! I love when you are together reacting!!!
Thanks for doing this!
Nivia Medina We got you!
This is one of my favourite dance practices and overall videos to watch. The choreo is slick and fluid and the boys are serious yet having a good time. The end with Suga twerking is just icing on the delicious cake.
You guys should definitely check out the idol choreography if you haven’t already :) loved this reaction 💜💜
I'm a BTS fan. Age doesnt matter. Hop on board....let's fly with these young men.
Yyyeeeeeeeeeyyy! Thank you guys! I purple💜💜💜 you! This is one of the dance practices that they were having fun.🤗🤗😘😘😘😎😎😎😜😜😜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hello guys thank you for reaction , i m from to dominican republic, i puple you💜💜💜
Deyanira Rubio 💜💜💜🤓
i love it that yall also included baepsae lyrics
i love u guys
This is one of my favorite songs of them ,because they are openly defying society expectation, and the pressure of always being the best at everything. More so in Asian cultures
You should totally react to BAEPSAE LIVE
Finallllllllly 😍😍😍 I was waiting for this for so so long
