I like the part at Maras. Reminds of the day we went down there and an oxen was coming up in the other direction. Nice video. Next time try one of the longer tours. Nine days in one of the greatest cycling spots on earth is simply not enough.
Mate, seriously breathless after watching this. Great video! My friend recently got me into mtb and all I can do is watch these videos until I can get one. Have you ever thought about travelling to Tasmania? We have some great trails here.
This video was absolutely amazing! I've always wanted to go on a massive mountain bike tour with a group of people. What did you take with you, and how exactly did you manage it all? such as did you camp everywhere and how often did you go in the van? I want to start planning something as epic as this but I just don't know how to go about it
Packed it in a standard bike cardboard box from a bike shop ... both wheels off, handlebars off, seat down, pedals off, rear deraileur off. Tie all components together in the most compact arrangement with foam pieces in between parts to stop rubbing. Don't take off tyres as they help protect things and take of brake discs so they don't get bent. Reinforce the cardboard box on all the edges with heavy duty tape to help protect it during transport.
Hi, i'm a wheelchair user since last year and looking for a trials suitable for cross-country handcycle. Did you have any not easy ascents or just downhill? (I didn't watch full video yet)
Tubed! A couple of the other guys were tubeless and one had issues with tire rolling and leaks. I would go tubed, much more reliable. Peru's trails are rough, so make sure your bike is in tip top condition, take spares, capture the trip on a GoPro and enjoy the ride! Also having a dedicated bike transport case makes life easier than using a cardboard box like I did - but it is still OK using a well packed cardboard bike box.
Thanks! I run tubed at moment but i saw Sacred Rides guys suggesting tubeless on their website so I was kind of considering that, although I'ld rather keep the tubes. I got a soft shell bike-bag, hopefully gonna be good enough. The hard-shells one are kind of to heavy, i'll find a way to get some extra protection with pads or so. Did you find it safe, travelling the bike around, or risky of get it stolen? Go Pro wise, shame on me, i lost it 6 months ago diving. I was hoping the Hero 4 to come out in June but has been post poned.. Cheers
Make sure you have a good waterproof cycling jacket as weather can sometimes change quickly at high elevation and a good backpack is a must. Also don't forget the GoPro to capture the memories! If you want a free jersey from Sacred Rides when booking one of their trips, use the promo code 106.
Don't waste time ... go ahead and book your DREAM mountain biking trip ... Life's too short! And if you want a free Jersey from Sacred Rides when booking one of their trips, use the promo code 106.

Yes, of course.
Great! I'll take the tour!
i'm not envious at all (lies), looks like there are some awesome memories for you guys there, what a brilliant ride
Yep, definitely was an awesome experience!
The ascents were not too technical, just the thin air makes you work harder! Majority of riding was downhill (maybe 60-70% downhill).
dude why is this video no longer available, I must have watched it about 20 times and now its gone, please repost this video if you can
just awesome!
Best video !!! Crazy team !!!
Wow. Well done, Stan.

I expected much more single track coming off Machu Picchu. It seems like it should have been a thrilling day ride down. Overall, very interesting.

Those tracks are unequivocal proof that the incas were keen mountain bike riders!
