How do you dry stone a wall with stones that are more round, as in size of small and large bowling balls. I’m in Ontario Canada and we have tons of these stones around but not many of the flatter style you normally use.🇨🇦

I'll do a video on that when I get the chance. Most of the principles remain the same: so length in and stones following each other internally. The difference being that where the stones meet they will make a dip on top rather than a flat area. You would then find a round stone to fit in the dip created. @thatstoneguy on Instagram builds some very nice walls with round stone.

How long do single stone walls last? Are they more challenging to build?

They are definitely quicker to build but come with their own challenges. As for longevity I'm not sure. You find them commonly in New England built by the early scottish and irish settlers but most are derelict. New England has a pretty severe freeze thaw cycle that won't do them any favours though. I reckon 50 years would be a safe bet for a wall like this but the beauty of it is they are so easy to repair.
