Going down to south padre for my honey moon in June, if u can I’d like a run down of tips and tricks, places, rigs, and all that u use for good fishing
It all depends of what type of fish you want to target brother and the conditions. so usually I take one rod to just cast it out and leave it there. And the other one to use with lighter tackle. Usually I use the fish finder rig, single drop and double drop rigs for catching redfish on the bottom. And with another rod I'll use a floater with live bait or just a light fish finder rig with about a half oz sliding weight or lighter. That's for the jetties. At night pirates landing pier is good for speckled trout. Texas made luers have been working there pretty well as well as live mullet and shrimp. Definitely recommend you try those bay bug glow shrimp. 🔥🔥 I will be making more videos talking about what works best as the seasons change. Usually in the summer I just go early in the morning or in the afternoon that's when I have had more luck catching fish.
Really it depends on what you're trying to target but for the most part Shrimp and mullet should work brother. Live is best but dead will work also. Either cut or whole. I've been using the Carolina rigs lately for flounder, trout and reds but single drop and double drop rigs will work as well.
For redfish it's 20 to 28in. And Your allowed one oversized tagged redfish per year I believe For black drum it is 14 to 30in. And I think your allowed to take one over sized drum over 52in. You can check the sizes of any freshwater or saltwater fish on the Texas outdoor annual app. Hope it helps!
Nice video! Great catches! haven,t fished the jetties in a long while mostly surf, but definantly considering it. Keep up the good work and tight lines.
@@johnnyboxer6671 awesome bro! as long as you have a rig set up for red fish like a double drop, single drop or a bottom rig like the Carolina style rig with about a 3oz weight or so you should be ok. I will be out there tomorrow trying my luck as well.

What set up were you using?
I used a cheap Walmart setup brother. gx2 rod with a Mitchell reel and 30lb braid. I also used a 3oz redfish leader that I bought at the quick stop.
