...brilliant - I met Ian Carr in the early 90's and got to play with Geoff Castle a couple of times -i miss this music...do you have a date -even a probably date for this, I have the Snake-hips LP somewhere...really love Bob B's playing...
Superb! I thought that I knew just everything about Nucleus, having grown up with it, but was completely unaware of this performance. Incidentally, I was led here in search of Geoff Castle's out-of-this-world composition RACHEL'S TUNE -- from the album SNAKEHIPS ETC, which until recently WAS available in on TH-cam but now appears to have been DELETED. (I hadn't realised that that can happen!). Any clues? I heard it on THIS PHONE just a few months ago!! Geoff's playing on that track is comparably brilliant to the general calibre of playing
.. (Sorry, accidentally sent text just above before completing it. As I was saying, I regard Geoff Castle's playing on RACHELS TUNE as comparable in terms of excellence to the calibre if Herbie Hancock. (Who justly or not received much more acclaim. As said, I played it on THIS phone just a few months ago but a whole shed load of Nucleus stuff seems to have been deleted from TH-cam. Anyone have a y ideas? 🤔🤔
Ian Carr and Nucleus- one of those bands which got less than they deserved.
They’re smiling because they know they’re the best
What a performance. Many thanks for this genuinely rare gem!
This line-up is superb. Recently acquired your release of Kaleidoscope live - excellent. Any plans to release any more Nucleus live recordings?
00:00 - Rat’s Bag
05:50 - band intros
06:45 - Snakehips etc. (cut)
07:10 - Theme 1: Sarsaparilla
09:41 - Nosegay jam?
I think the nosegay jam is still theme 1: sarsaparilla

Snakehips? Like Miles: Carr took a step to funk - but always serious - and The Best Musicians.
I'm nearly at a loss for words here. This is so incredible, it's hard to fathom the depth of musicianship on that stage!! Thank you so much!!
The late great Peter sellers on drums the groove master from nz rip Mr sellers from glen Boyle nz

Allan Holdsworth and a lot of other legendary musicians were in this group.
looks so realistic....! Like they're actually... playing the instruments themselves.
