You give such great advice and I thank you for replying to a question I had before on another video.. Now, is it better to take the eggs from the Mom or just leave them with her as in the wild? Thanks again..
Got 2 chicken egg incubators with fans will use those only thing the water resvoire is not much always have to fill. Have a smaller fridge not being used 6 cu ft will convert like your Vikings fridge. Love your water pitchers mix one up with Grape coolaid Apple juce and Vodka! Some ice!
You do realize, that particular Perlite, is treated with Miracle-Gro. I'm actually headed home, with a new bag, because I saw it on the bag, JUST before I setup my very first clutch. I wasn't gonna take the chance.
How long does it take to incubate the eggs. I have a female with no mate that has layed eggs. How long after I put them into a container does it take for them to hatch?
So I got a styrofoam incubator from lllrep it seems cool, do I need to put the eggs in a tub? Just putting them in the incubator isnt enough humidity? This incubator seems to have a big tray for water maybe not though seeing how much water you are using
Hey man I’m having a hard time getting my humidity in my incubator higher than 80-85%. Any tips? I have a whole 6qt tub filled halfway with water without the lid to help and that’s as much as I can get for humidity
I’ve asked a few people this and nobody can give me an answer lol I just bought some 2qt shallow green top cambro tubs and also some 6qt cambro shallow red top tubs. I’m hoping the eggs will fit in the green top but there’s really not much hight space after adding the substrate and Egg crate light defuser. I’d rather not use the red tops as they will fill the incubator from wall to wall with almost no space at all. Just looking for some guidance in the right direction
Kristin Henson well from what I’ve figured out it depends on mommas weight. The longer they are on a clutch of eggs the longer they don’t eat. Which can be for 52+ days after they lay. I just had a clutch of ball python eggs and I’m letting momma do maternal. Primarily because I’m uncomfortable with the half ass incubator I was sold a month ago. I can’t get it to run right and I keep losing heat. So In about 52 days I’ll try to remember to let you know how maternal went
Hi guys. How many average sized ball python clutches would your exoterra incubator hold? I want something that would hold three. Also whats your view on the zoomed incubator? Thanks again
Olympus Reptiles mine are. Temp is 82. Humidity 85. This was my first clutch. Unexpected. Another thing I done was mark eggs today. They are one week old. I'm trying to not open container again. Thanks
Hi, I've been watching your videos with interest and I think there great! It looks like you have quite a collection of breeding pairs. And my question is; How do you manage incubate all your clutches in such a small incubator, or do you have several of these small incubators to cope with the volume of clutches?
Nicholas Pomfret great question! we had three small incubators this past season, but don't expect that to be enough this year. we are currently working on converting a refrigerator into a large incubator.
I know this is an older video but did you have any problems at all with miracle gro perlite? People say that it molds and is just all around mad for eggs due to the fertilizers. Is this true? Do you still use this kind?
do you still use this for ur ball python eggs i was looking to buy this but so many people are saying its not good for bp eggs that its to small cant even fit a 6qt tubs
One or two. They are not really big, but do work. I love my fridge. New place will eventually have a full closet (won't convert it until it is needed though)
linda pecor right now we are sold out, but Babies will be ready soon. Our patreon members get first chance www.patreon.com/olympusreptiles. Or can buy through Facebook when we have them
I like you guys :) honest, sincere and a good watch! Keep. It up
thanks! we are trying. we by no means know it all, and still are learning ourselves.
Great video
Great show. Some real good info.
thanks man!!
Great video. Thanks!
Wow, old skool Olympus Reptiles lol. Kinda miss the old snake room. Bet you all don't miss that big janky rack though.
sometes I miss the old room too. Even the old rack. Nothing like when you first start.

Do you use that one often, and has it created any issues??
It isn't a problem at all. Eggs are not in the perlite. If they were, maybe. Bur they aren't
@@OlympusReptilesaahhhh...... that makes total sense. I wasn't sure, so I spent 2 hrs looking for more.
by chance how long have you been using that kind of bedding??? staring to breed so looking at good bedding to incubate
Alora Ladd several years. it works well.
Usually everyone use ,it in these days.just saying.
How long does it take to incubate the eggs. I have a female with no mate that has layed eggs. How long after I put them into a container does it take for them to hatch?
58 days

Definitely a tub

Don't worry about it. That overall humidity is fine, but in the tub is what needs to be high. As long as that is good no worries
@@OlympusReptiles okay cool thank you! Hoping to get my first clutch soon I’ve been pairing since late November early December 🤞🏼🤞🏼
What tubs fit best in this incubator. I just ordered this same incubator and I’m having a hard time finding appropriate size tubs. Thanks

incubator vs maternal incubation... thoughts?

Do u use tap water or drinking water jugs for the snakes to drink
Does miracle gro perlite mood leopard gecko eggs?
How often do you cycle the air in your tubs?
At what humidity do ball python have to be at
do you put a probe inside the tubs or a small thermometer
SaVaGewAyZ honestly I have done both. I prefer a probe connected to a thermometer so I can CK temps without opening the incubator.
Matt your videos are on point, would you recommend that incubator for someone who only needed to incubate 1 or 2 clutches?
sheldon cooper I would, but won't hold more than 2.
I'll be buying that exo terra incubator. If it's good for you its great for my little hobby.
is it necessary to open the tub every few days for the exchanging of air?
or it's fine to keep it close and not to move it?
thank you!
by the way
love your videos so much :)
thanks! I do open and check, but most say it is not necessary. lids are not airtight, so should be OK to leave them be.
Did you put holes in containers for ventilated ?
Not needed, lids are not air tight
Olympus Reptiles mine are. Temp is 82. Humidity 85. This was my first clutch. Unexpected.

How many shoe boxes you think by chance my trust ole incubator finally pooped out after 16 years lol just need emergency backup
grip longhaggen for what? Our fridge? Probably 15 or 16. Small backup maybe 2
Hey matt so that exo actually works then
grip longhaggen yes. Just small
I know this is an older video but did you have any problems at all with miracle gro perlite? People say that it molds and is just all around mad for eggs due to the fertilizers. Is this true? Do you still use this kind?
I still use it, zero issues. However, my eggs are not in it so that may make a difference. Our hatch rate has been a consistent ,95%.
Should the container be in the dark
Doesn't matter.
Where to find the crates .?
What size/brands tubs did you use?
Usually 12qt. Brand doesn't matter
Cool! Thanks man 🤘
What brand is that incubator
Now i know now.You put water to keep it more humid.
Wait at what humidity do they have to be
Ivan_money_ Ramirez for eggs I like 99. As high as possible
did you have any issues with the exoterra model? i'm thinking about picking one up
No, but double CK temp with a probe
I would save for a small cserpents hotbox best purchase so far in my opinion
Yeah I'm seriously considering just biting the bullet and build one from an old coke fridge (I want the glass doors) as a more permanent option
Yes
Do you put holes in your egg container at all?
Isaiah Jefferson not usually. if I do, just one small one
Olympus Reptiles great thanks!!
We’re do get the crates
wamart for tubs, they light diffuser panel from home depot, as well as the substrate.
do you still use this for ur ball python eggs i was looking to buy this but so many people are saying its not good for bp eggs that its to small cant even fit a 6qt tubs
Chris Mcdonald I do use it, and it is a bit small. I am planning on switching to a full fridge incubator this season as I need the space.
Ccih
Gfof
how bout humidity on the lid dripping on the eggs?
hugh ferguson incubator has a slight slant so water runs. in flat incubator I add a slight slant.

So left one end of tub up slightly??
Or full incubator on tilt
how many clutches can you store in tge exo terra? thanx
