The Kentucky Derby is only for 3 year olds, and at her size it took her longer to mature into her body. John Sheriffs handled her perfect where alot of other trainers would have tried to push her to early and risk her being badly injured. By the time she was ready she was to old. There is a reason there aren't many thoroughbreds as big as she is racing at a high level (around 17.3 hands, the average TB is in the 15's) and that makes what she accomplished and how great she was even more amazing.
Her true value is in her ability to spit out top sires, if she has it. There was no need to rush her also as a filly it's definitely not as important. This was a heck of a close call.
It was a great day at Hollywood Park. She knew exactly where the wire was. St. Trinians ultra game. Never forget that day. I was there for this one and her Clement Hirsh at Del Mar where she also won by a hair. Enough to stop your heart.
I love to watch horse race on tv! I love horses they are loveable; warmth; caring! I detest Animal CRuelty; Animals Have Rights Also; i am watching it October/November 2024! It is cold dawn day😢😢😢😢😢
Given that there's no way even in my imagination that I could buy Zenyatta, I sure wouldn't mind owning St. Trinians, who put out everything she had and was impressive as hell.
I watch these races of hers from time to time, and while I know she’s going to win them, I still somehow get knotted inside with worry when she’s so far behind halfway through the race.
Zendayatta had already retired she was leaving ina farm ; their was an accident she fell backward broke her back? She died instantly inthat moment; she loved to shake ut up./ She loved taking pictures; been on spotlight; before the race started; she leaves behind ponies! I am watching this video November/ Autumn 2024l The Holidays Are approaching?❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢
The talk around the track and everywhere really was saint Trinians was gone be the horse that was gonna do it. Her trainer Mitchell even said she was confident she would beat Zenyatta that day. I had my money on the queen tho 😊
She was a late bloomer. Huge horse took longer to grow. By the time she was fully grown and ready, the triple crown races for three year olds were already done.
@@exfolios Howdy!! Thank you for taking the time to share the info, however I luckily did pick up on that as I grew older- I think I was only about 12 when I wrote that comment, but I’m still an avid fan of Zenyatta and racing now 🤗. But I appreciate you taking the time to educate anyways 😊

Greatest racehorse of all time. Secretariat doesn't count, because Secretariat wasn't a horse; he was Secretariat.

What a nailbiter!!

St Trinnians was a good horse on top of her game ,good enough to where i didn't key Zenyatta in my trifecta.
Oopsy. :)
How did she not get in the Kentucky derby??????
