This is a little bit of semantics going on here. 'Dark matter' or 'dark energy'. There IS something in that 'space' it's like the electron cloud in a atom. The space between the galactic bodies, the energy is there, we just don't have the systems to pick up/read the emittance. The component that surrounds and connects everything together. The whole eastern 'nothingness' thing always confused me. There is always something it just might not have any structure. So non-structure.

Empty space isn't either of those either by the way (when it comes to Physics) and nothingness itself has nothing to do with any of the physical concepts that you mentioned. If this seems like semantics to you you're thinking in the wrong direction. You can't even begin talking about "nothing", much less define it, so it's very easy to get lost in "semantics". But regardless, no structure is not a non-structure and thus a structure. With that route you are the one getting caught up in semantics (which again, is almost inevitable given the nature of the topic). It simply isn't something that even Mathematics can deal with, much less something as tangible as Physics (empty space, dark energy, dark matter and what not are all something). The moment you try to even imagine nothing you're already creating out of it. And that's where you're getting lost, by equating the product of nothing with nothing itself. It's one of those things that are so blatantly obvious that you either won't believe it if somebody told you or just wouldn't think about it anymore. Not sure if any of this will help in any way, but I figured the whole nothingness nonsense out while doing Mathematics (in the West), so I didn't even know this was an "Eastern concept of nothingness" to begin with. Imagine a the body is like a car it has a fuel pump an alternator and a battery that runs the engine the body has all of these except even science can't find the battery. The battery is only needed to start the car once it is running the alternator powers it so what starts the body it's your soul. Darkness doesn't exist. You can't make darkness darker, darkness only exists in the absence of light. You can have bright light, super bright light low light or no light so darkness doesn't exist. It's the same as creation there is only nothing in the absence of creation.
