This is a HUGE step up to the last tutorials and this is even better than some of the big tcg tutorial vids that I have seen out there! Great job, Dan!
The only thing I'm a bit iffy about is the card art/ the flavour. I don't mean to be rude, but the monster design is kind of unappealing compared to something like Pokemon or the cute/cool monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh.
Thanks for the video. The graphics for each card make it easier to remember them. I would ask for some strategy videos but other channels do that and there is now your weekly discord matches.
it need some sort of digital version, not nesseserly an online pvp thing, but a nice adventure to introduce the game mechanics and lore to people and put it on youtube/twitch
I worry about the mulligan rule, I feel like it constricts design space a little? Like, it prevents you from designing cards that care about how many spirits you have in your underworld, or alters the power/reliability of cards that interact with spirits in the underworld, etc. feels a BIT shortsighted IMO, constraining design space that could be used in future. Perhaps a different way of adding a cost to mulligans might be better.
We actually have some cards that care about that in set 2 and it’s not a problem. Losing those 2 spirits may allow you to get a better hand and activate an effect but that’s still 10% of your health!
@@Elestrals That's fair - if it's playing well even with cards designed around underworld interactions, with the current mulligan rule, that sounds very exciting :D Eager to try the game and bug my LGS about it ;)
we all know that life do not matter, and it is a only a resource. If my tearlaments in yugioh, belzemon in digimon, or any Black deck in magic have muligan like this, they would be unbeatable
First off, good video and second I have 2 questions. 1. So if I understand that correctly you can now freely nexus or did I miss smth? 2. You can expend 1 to draw 1, but wouldn't that make cards like Nectar kinda pointless? I mean you could just expend two anyway.
1. You still require a card's effect to Nexus, so you can't freely Nexus. 2. You can only Expend 1 to draw 1 once per turn. Also, doing so requires you to forgo Normal Casting, Normal Ascending, or Enchanting a Spirit from your Spirit Deck to an Elestral for that turn. Hope this helps.
question that wasnt answsered here, i think im confuused on it but can you normal cast an elestral and nexus int eh same turn or is nexusing part of that 1 spirit action?

@@wertsTCG I noticed that on the site, that's so cool, will you guys eventually also use gamefound for now sets/starter & structure decks? Because again, gamefound offers so much kore palmentuin options for those who are interested, it's so much more customer friendly.
I downloaded the App to try this game out and it was unplayable because everything was to small to read and nothing was allowing me to zoom in to be able to read what the cards do.
@@Elestrals I was only in Tutorial mode and the only card that I could zoom in on was only the card that it is telling me to play. I'm guessing it will be more available in other game modes.
@@Elestrals I just tried Training mode and I was stuck on my opening hand. It was asking me if I wanted to do a mulligan but I couldn't see the cards in my opening hand to know if I liked them or not. I also tried out the screen size adjustment and that didn't help either because as the cards got bigger they also fell out of frame too.
Tutorial is a Work in progress as thr app is very much still in beta, this is solid feedback and similar feedback had already been shared with the team. As per your other comment the app isnt nativly supported in all aspect ratios at the current time. The UI scaleing can help bbut not all devices will it help with @randyrobineau2699
Nexus requires an effect that says you can nexus and it means you move spirits from one card to another. Oftentimes this results in another effect happening too!

But good luck getting into yugioh after immediently finishing a tutorial on how to tribute summon, and in your first game online you have to figure out in real time what it means for their rikka field spell to "tribute an opponents monster for the cost of your card effects", while they perform a 20+ step combo, each card with a wall of text. This is coming from an avid competitive yugioh player who started playing in 2019. I like the game but the learners experience IS miserable if youre not a child with nothing better to do.

I played yugioh for years as a kid, I then played competitively on Yugioh Duel links app. I enjoyed it, until it got to the like half monster/spell cards, link summons and text so long it could be a chapter of a book. IDK if it's just me, but I think having 20 spirits is not enough because they're both your life points and resources. It would have been one thing if the spirits went back into your spirit deck after an Elestral got destroyed, but they don't, meaning that you're gonna be running through your spirit deck very quickly. Personally, I think the spirit deck should be anywhere from 30 - 40 cards, but that's just my opinion.
Game looks cute but doesn't seem for me, I wish you guys the best tho, we need more TCGs with good devs to rival MTG and YuGiOh that have become corrupted by greed, someone has to put them in their place!
this guide misses a lot. what determines how much damage an elestral deals when it swings direct? can a defense position elestral swing? and the big one, when casting, do you randomly pull from spirit deck or do you look through it and pick? is there a limit to spirits in the spirit deck? kinda just ran through it tbh.

This looks really good.. However, You seem to have combined the absolute worst elements of both Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the gathering. Ultimately ending up with a game that doesn't quite iterate enough on their gameplay to be considered unique. Overall I think the presentation and promo are fantastic but I feel the game is fundamentally flawed. I think to have a successful TCG in this day and age you need to have fresh ideas and fun gameplay - especially when your competitors have been around for decades now and can't change their games much. Sorry to be such a party pooper but we already have a gazillion TCG's and I don't think this diversifies enough to hold gamers attention for long. Your cards look amazing though and the marketing team are doing a terrific job!
I think you’re selling our spirit resource mechanic short. I feel very confident in how dynamic the gameplay develops to be with more cards added to the card pool. I appreciate the kind words otherwise and wish you the best!
@@Elestrals I think you mean "Complicated" rather than "Dynamic" but I'm more concerned with elements like "Normal and Special Summoning" the extra deck, 4 copies of each card, monster/spell zones all the boring things that are so core to old school TCG's... But nobody wants a new "Old school" they want something fun and modern! It feels like you didn't realise that "old school" TCG's only exist today because of their FRANCHISE, not their gameplay mechanics. So why would you adopt such outdated systems? How many kids do you think actually play the Pokémon TCG these days? Yes there is a game, but people care far more about grabbing their favourite mons than they do about how many Ultra Super EX cards they can have in their deck. Just look at Yu-Gi-Oh speed duels for example. It's a new format that improves DRASTICALLY on the traditional Yu-Gi-Oh game but only a tiny niche of the community enjoys it, despite being mechanically superior. It just won't catch on and that's fine for them because it satisfies that niche audience that wants to spend their money to play "old school Yu-Gi-Oh". What I'm trying to get at is that I think you've created an amazing lovechild of Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic here and if that's what you want then you've certainly achieved it. But why would I play this when I could already play those other games that I already like? Because not to be brutal... but the everything but the art bores me because you're relying on 20+ year old rules in an age where the average attention span is 1/2 a second. I would love to see you succeed but I don't see how you're going to stand out when your game doesn't innovate on anything. I'd relish the chance to work with you on this and transform the product into something truly unique because I'm really not a hater! Just want to see you succeed so until then I'll keep an eye on this and wish you all the best.
@@AyyyyyyyyyLmao I have to agree with you 100%. This is a Yugioh clone if I ever saw one. The graphics of the cards, the mat and the presentation are AMAZING! But at its core. It’s Yugioh with literally, monsters, spell, traps, special summons, attack position, defense position. Same rules for battle. Attack position dies, it takes the difference in ATK (runes in this case). Defense doesn’t take damage. Can attack life points directly. This borrowed so heavily from yugioh it’s shameful to even pretend it doesn’t. I respect the hustle nonetheless if you just want to make a yugioh game with a fresh set of paint and a new universe but let’s not beat around the bush here. It’s yugioh with slightly different resourcing where your LP are also a resource. Changing that one thing doesn’t make it stand out in an otherwise sea of card games. People that play yugioh have invested too much to change and the people that don’t play it don’t play it because they don’t like the gameplay. Anyways, give the guy who made the presentation a raise for sure. Compliments to the artists involved in this game, the colors are absolutely stunning. But I’m afraid it’s not at all going to make it past the 2 year curse. I give it 3 max. 9 months at the least.

You can’t normal cast a 2 or 3 cost Elestral, you have to ascend into it!

Do you have to draw a Spirit Card on every turn? I’m confused because of the 20 Spirit Card limit.
You can use your spirit deck freely thought out the game. It’s not something you have to draw

Hey, have you tried playing Elestrals yet? a 30-40 card spirit deck would make games last 25+ minutes, thats not ideal!
