If the world had more people like you Adine and your entire help. The world would be a better place. Thank you for all you do saving and caring for these elephants. ❣️
Your love and personal commitment does not go unnoticed... The health and happiness displayed by the group each day is a result of your understanding and contribution. These beautiful, majestic, and gentle giants are no match to man's bad behavior, but thankfully they have you and the carers. One cannot imagine not seeing these beautiful souls roaming the South African landscape. Thank you for being their voice, and for ensuring their safety and happiness. Many blessings to you and to the carers for all you do 24/7...
Such beautiful words and thoughts...I dare say, Adine and ALL at HERD, that your ENTIRE group of subscribers feel exactly the same way. Love and prayers from a friend in Michigan. 🐘🐑🐕💚🇺🇲
I learned so much from HERD. I learned what a terribly lonely and unhealthy world the earth would be without the elephants, nature and all wildlife. My favorite patron saint for animals and environment, because he loved all creatures, said it best 8 centuries ago: *"Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them wherever they require it.”* - St. Francis of Assisi. (September 26, 1181 - October 3, 1226)
What a wonderful, beautiful person you are Adine, I thank you for your honest thoughts and aims for, not only, the Jabulani Herd but for all the various creatures, who are under threat from humans, and climate change.!! Your very humble assessment of your own participation in rearing and protecting these very clever, very beautiful creatures and all the hard work, love and toil that is involved in doing so is nothing short of incredible.!! I will run out of adjectives trying to thank you for your and the carers devotion to protecting the creatures that find their way to The Herd Orphanage.!!
Adine, you are the woman. Talking of your strengths and your weaknesses as well. Having board members who are very knowledgeable and also have the elephants best interests at heart. But when it gets right down to it you and the carers are the ones who love these orphans. Such a wonderful woman you are to have taken on this dream and made it come to life. I admire you not only as a woman, but single mother, business woman. Being a single mother is a handful in its self. I am very proud of you.
How awesome to hear all about the history and philosophy of the Herd! Thank you for being so generous with your videos, and, of course, for all the amazing work you do for these amazing beings. ❤❤❤
Your love for the elephants and wildlife as a whole and your passion for their conservation and protection is palpable, Adine. I truly admire you and hope and pray for God's bountiful blessings to be poured unto you, Jabulani herd, to HERD, and all the people who help and support you with your mission and vision. If only all humans are like you, this world would be a very beautiful and peaceful place. Where you are, with all of nature's bounty and the beautiful elephants and the good hearts of humanity in the form of the carers, the veterinary team lead by Dr. Rogers, and all the other people working with you surrounding you, I believe we have a glimpse of what paradise looks like. Thank you so much for giving us an access to your beautiful world.🙏🐘❤
Part of me wishes I could work there at Herd, to help care for the elephants. Watching these videos from the other side of the world, it's clear that elephants are one of the most intelligent and empathetic land animals on earth. Adine and each member of the the care staff there are so important in caring for these extremely intelligent & caring beings.
Thank you Adina and everyone at HERD for EVERYTHING you do to take care of our favorite herd. I try my best to let everyone who will listen about this wonderful organization. I know people get tired of me talking about elephants especially The pretty pink Princess baby K. ❤❤❤ 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
I didn't think HERD happened overnight, but this was so interesting. Thanks to everyone for building on your vision to save elephants & the land, Adine. It's a privilege to follow your journey. 🌍🇿🇦🐘💙🍃🐘🙏
You are one awesome lady who has worked so very hard for these orphans and continues to . So many thanks to you , all the carers and to the whole team as you continue to put these elephants first . ❤
Such a complex process! So thankful that you were there to help develop HERD. The work you have done, the space you have created is amazing. I cannot imagine making the commitment to do what you have done. I'm not sure how many would be willing to do what you have done, but we are thankful for the work you and Carers do every day. I'm so happy to be able to support HERD and watch as the elephants grow and change. ❤ Your beautiful spirit shines through as does the compassion and devotion of the carers. It is a huge responsibility with so much to think about.
In human/nature conflicts, nature loses. Always. Makes me despise humans and our egocentric existence. Thank you HERD for giving me a little bit of faith in my own species, and hope for the ones we abuse.
ADINE you are wonderful, dedicated and full of love for these animals....GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU WITH THE WHOLE TEAM, IT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL TO SEE THESE CREATURES BEING CARED FOR WITH SO MUCH ZEAL....
There are hundreds of thousands of animal shelters, animal orphanages, animal adoption agencies, and animal rescue organizations all over the world now. All of them fall under the same basic idea. Then, there are even more veterinarian offices, especially here in the US. But to specialize in caring for elephants, you have to have a highly specialized team of big game veterinarians educated with specialized college degrees. Along with that, you will have to have a property in Africa large enough to contain an entire herd of the largest land mammals in the world. Then, you would have to obtain the funds to operate such a large undertaking, which is more than half of the battle. There are only a handful of people in the world who could bring all of that together successfully. Adine Roode is one of those people.
You are a marvel Adine. Not nearly enough space to say all you and your team deserve but, in summary...the work you're doing combined with your passion, commitment, intelligence and vision for the future will ensure that HERD serves not only the elephants themselves but the community as a whole and the land as well. The philanthropic and educational opportunities are limitless. YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD. Thank you for caring about the elephants, the land and wildlife in general. Sending many blessings, best wishes, good vibes and good karma to you. 💚🐘. 🌎✌️

Thank You Adine for all of the information and preservation of all of these beautiful elephants! I have learned soo much from you and the carers! All of the elephants Love you to death and I believe they would all protect you and the carers! They all understand what you have done for them and Love you to death! Thank You also to all of the people that it took to be able to start this wonderful Herd Orphanage! I Love You all to pieces!! And also Adine I just Love your glasses!! You look like a little Menion. Which is adorable! Again..Love You All!!!❤❤
Those ears tell it all. These animals are so intelligent and loving to one another I just can't imagine anyone. Harming one of these magnificent animals. If they could speak they would tell us so many sad too that would keep us up at night in horror now and then you can see sadness in them but most of the time I have noticed they're just happy to be with each other I think my father would be shocked because he knows these elephants they have never known to be that very friendly to man and can you blame them they are so well behaved and they are all so tight then they look out after each other they're their own family now I've been a very special one and you're a very special person all of you that take care of these elephants desperately need your love and help I believe you give this whole earth hope and you show God and Mankind that there is still hope for us I wish I could drive up one day with a whole truck load for a watermelons boy would I be popular for a day LOL
Hi Adine. Thank you for all the support you and your wonderful team give to these special elephants. They are wonderful and watching them is so much fun and has become a part of my life. I can’t believe people want to hurt them. But I know they do. Thank you for protecting them.
You all do such wonderful thing in, rescuing these little Ellie’s. I admire each and every one of you and all you do at the orphanage. I can’t imagine all the responsibility you have. And look at little khanyisa stripping those branches now. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for explaining the why, who and how of HERD. Very informative and interesting. You are truly living a life in which you significantly positively impact both man and nature. It most feel very satisfying and quite wonderful to know what an impact you do make.
Thank you very much Adine for your insightful discussion on the founding of the HERD. You were so fortunate to have grown up surrounded by so much beautiful wildlife. We are currently living in very tempestuous times. It seems that almost every country is experiencing some kind of inner turmoil. And amidst all of this is man's inhumanity to both man and nature. I love that our 16 elephants have the kind of life they do. Whilst wild game hunting and poaching still exists in SA, our HERD is safe and protected. I believe we all overwhelmingly feel the same way. The wild is frought with beauty and danger, mostly from mankind. You have come a long way and we are with you for the long haul! You and all the Carers should be most proud of all you have done to bring the HERD to this day!
Adine we applaud you - as a woman, a mother and a wonderful carer of elephants. And we appreciate you for teaching us so much about elephants and to crown it all bringing us joy in (for instance) watching Khanyisa's journey.
I LIKE WHAT YOU SAID ADINE..."ELEPHANTS NEEDS ELEPHANTS"!!! I TOTALLY AGREE!!!...IN FACT MY FAVORITE SAYING IS..."EVERY ELEPHANT NEEDS A HERD"!!!😃👍 THANK YOU AND YOUR MOTHER BEFORE YOU, FOR STARTING HERD, AND FOR "YOUR" GENUINE LOVE FOR AND DEDICATION TO CARING FOR AND PROTECTING GODS MAJESTIC GIANTS!!!😍😘🐘🐘🍼🍼🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🌳🌊 GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL THE CARERS AT JABULANI HERD!!!💜🙋😃👍🔥🙏👑➕📖🔥
Thanks very much for your formidable work and support for these precious animals. We have to protect them ❤️👍. Hi khanisa ❤️ hi 👋 all of you 🍀. Thanks very much Adine 🌹 and wonderfuls careers 🍀
Adine you are the queen the absolute BEST lady ever my idol, i wish i could take care of cheetas elephants instead of going party with my friends most of the time its cause we are bored, you HAVE the BEST life in the world, please believe us you have the most fulfilling life
It is marvelous that you take such good care for this Herd!!! You are one of my 2 heroes who don't wear heels.❤..... Both women who take care of elephants!!! Thank you!!
Saludos 🙏🙏🙏❤️
I understand it was your Mother who rescued the Ellie's from Zimbabwe, they were going to be culled , maybe I've got it wrong ! Adina you are doing a wonderful thing looking after orphan Ellie's, also the carer's ♥️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
God bless your mother. It makes sense to me on such a personal level. You are so humble, loving and where you belong. Beautiful story, yet a book, when time allows, of your life is so needed. I will send donation. Use it where you need it and another for the carers. Love, Theresa in Massachusetts ❤
My mom worked for the Goehring family of CT. Don't often see that name. Retired to Marco Island yrs ago. Have since passed. Always had two schnauzer as children.
Thank you everyone at Herd, for your love and care for this herd. This video is so interesting and informative. Aldine is articulate and understandable in her commentary. Amazing people…🐘🐘🐘!
@Adine, I am French so my English will be approximate but to answer your question, I have always loved and found elephants fascinating, I fell in love with this herd of the personality of each individual and khanissa her story, this little pink albino elephant, how to resist and then you maybe also its " a woman to woman relationship, solidarity "(im a woman ), I don't know I cracked up, I don't miss any of your videos♥♥♥
Adine, that was interesting and well presented. You held my attention for the entire time you spoke. You speak from the heart with real passion for the work you do. Your points run smoothly from one to the next. You build a clear picture, which is, although complex, easy for us to grasp. Thank you. I am thoroughly enjoying watching the herd every day. It has now replaced DSTV. It is clean, no, blasphemey or bad language, which is greatly appreciated. Appreciate you and your team and the great work you do. Much love from Liberty, Pinetown, KZN.
I hope we, your subscribers and foster ellie parents, send you great strength and compassion along with support and ideas to help you sustain and thrive in your endeavor to save elephants. This video is a brave statement to explain how much it takes, monetarily, physically and emotionally for the survival of our ellies and to stress to humans around the world how important both species are to cooperate side by side in survival and for our children to come. Spread the word, subscribers and those of you who watch, to everyone you know, about HERD. Even the smallest donation, idea or just love from each of us around the world, can tip the balance in Herd's future survival and ours as a species. I hope you all heard Adine say she is almost to the drowning point of being able to support it all. So we, the world,, must support them, for now and future generations.
Thank you Adine for sharing this unique in site into the start of HERD. The motivation behind HERDS conception and the ultimate vision for the long term care, rehabilitation and where possible future reintegration of these beautiful elephants. It may take a village to raise a child but it takes a strong compassionate woman, an army of dedicated carers and the love, acceptance and bond of an elephant HERD to raise a baby orphan elephant to fulfill the life they were destined to have. With this vision when we no longer tread this earth there will still be the quiet gentle tread of these magnificent key stone beings passing through the bush. With out people like you the future may only know the elephant as an object of curiosity long gone, a story in a book or a faded photo. You are an inspiration. 💖💞🐘🦣❤
God bless you and your team! It’s a massive undertaking you’ve signed on for, your commitment to the land and its wildlife is remarkable! Be safe and well 💜🐘💜🐘💜
So good to spend some time with you. I want you to know that it brings me a gift a day when I am reminded of what you are doing, knowing there is someone else trying to make sure the animals do not lose anymore land.
So VERY interesting and informative. I was glued to the entire video. We now know more about how this incredible organization works and functions. Adine, your ideas and philosophies are intelligent and inspiring. Having all of these great minds assist you is why this program is working so well. You are so right that there needs to be that one organization that is innovative and productive that others can go to for knowledge. The Herd is that organization. I can't imagine how it must feel to make such a vital contribution to the elephant species, and the entire ecosystem in general. This can only be attained by sincere love, respect, and incredibly hard work. Adine is my hero for many reasons, including the idea of having women contribute and be vital to the success of Herd. Adine is a true revolutionary.
🫶🌳🐘👍Such great details to consider and address. 🐘🌿This is why we are a part of HERD’s journey, as we know and and appreciate every decision you make on behalf and around the welfare of the elephants in your care. 🌱🐘Thank you Adine and everyone who make up HERD 👏🐘💞
The world owes so much to the dedicated staff for what they do.
Regular donations from members of the public are essential to help HERD

There are hundreds of thousands of animal shelters, animal orphanages, animal adoption agencies, and animal rescue organizations all over the world now.
All of them fall under the same basic idea.

Outstanding! Amazing people. Thank you for sharing.
Very interesting!
Adine you are so sympatic 💐.
Love the elephants ❤🐘❤!
Greetings from Germany 👋🏻.
Love the background activity.😉
Thank you for saving the HERD.
❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘
Truly beautiful!
You are real angels!
not all heroes wear capes. you guys are the best. ty so much for sharing all this amazing content with us and for everything you do for the herd.

thank you so much all of you for loving the herd. Love all of you so much
So good to spend some time with you.
