Hey Johnathan, I am an old dude, 66, and new to disc golf. I have watched many many youtube videos from many people here, and they are all great, appreciate very much you all take the time to help us. But I must say I love your videos the best. You are awesome man, your videos are the best, very informative and always some great humor. I especially love your videos Johannes, you guys make a great team. Tomas as well, helping you, and therefore teaching us, those dudes are awesome. Thank you very, very much !!!!!! Please keep the vid's coming.
The look of excited and overall just flat out RELIEF on Jonathan's face after he makes the long putt at the end is amazing. It's almost more like relief that something clicked, than it is like excitement he made it. Amazing video!!!
It takes a special sort of someone that makes me think, "I want to be your friend" and, I do, just want to be your friend. Keep being fantastic, I have started throwing more Lat. 64 simply from these videos. I have 2 Zombie Tattar Pures that are the smoothest throwing putters I have ever had. So. Many. Cheers.
relatable comment :) i have a similar list of "people i would like to have a beer with", and Johannes has earned a spot on that. Seems like a great guy.
Same, like I don't think any individual player or other manufacturer has genuinely well done, fun instructional videos like this. As someone who just picked up the sport this year it also helps with them having Johnathan as the guinea pig. Can't wait for the next one. ✌🏼
The 11 down votes are innova fanboys. How can anyone dislike this content? Relatable, humorous and informative! Keep it up! Very jealous of your access to personal mentors!
I am so happy to have found another new player to learn with! I've been playing a long time, but very irregularly, so I'm basically a new player with old discs. Thank you for being so honest and open with your learning journey!
i love these videos with Johnathan and Johannes they are not quite as dry and informative as some of the dedicated disc golf teaching channels but they are very entertaining and still full of helpful tidbits
Honestly never looked at or considered Latitude discs before DG Valley and this series, great stuff guys. Been trying these tips in the field and it's been helping a lot. Learning right alongside you Jonathan! Please keep these videos coming!
Helpful video! I appreciate how these tutorials are from the learner’s perspective. Makes all the tips and techniques more relatable as opposed to tutorials where everyone in the video is already a master.
Watched this video this morning and went out and improved my putting by about 25%, basically this much more confidence on any putt within the circle. I think previously I always overthought the putting process but this simple method allows me to focus better on those 25 to 30’ putts. Excellent advice!
Just found this series today and it really helps to see a beginner get tips. I've been playing for a year and could use some power and confidence. Thanks, Jonathan.
Im trapped with this channel! Youre doing great content with an approach i can relate to a lot as i started playing disc golf with wifey just since last spring. The struggle has been real but progress has been made by both of us. Keep up the good work :)!
I'm definitely going to try this technique. My "spin" putts look like yours, Jonathan, "meh", and I have no confidence outside 15 feet. Johannes's "spush" putts look like just what I need as well. The technique is really well demonstrated here too. Another great video for us "noobs", thanks!
Another great quality video as always. Something I like to think about when my putt is struggling is just "throw it in the basket." Sometimes I overthink my form and wrist snap and its best to just zone out and throw it in
I now playing for 2 months. 3 weeks ago one guy noticed that I was struggling with my putts (basically bad spin putts) and showed me the push putts. It really allowed me to gain confidence and to get more consistent with my putting under 15 feet. Over 15 feet my disc was too unstable and with a little spin from the wrist it allowed me to stabilize the disc so the spush putts came naturally. After watching video about the spin and the push it's nice to see that video.
If you ever get fired at latitude 64, just start making documentaries. With your humor and your feel for the right timing of jokes, I think you could go a long way with that. Great job once again!
Honestly, i have been playing disc golf for about 3 months, and i have seen quite a Lot of videos on TH-cam by now, but i always come back to this channel, it is just really good content, Jonathan is funny but there is really good tips and tricks in All theese videos too, which just makes it a amazing combo, big fan keep it Up ✌️
This opened my eyes quite a bit. I'm around an intermediate level and while I understand the concept of weight transfer in regards to back leg to front leg, I have never visualized the power transfer from the back leg to arm like this. I think that tip is priceless and can be extended to drives as well. We will see tomorrow!
Love the production and editing value!!! The host is a 11/10!! Bravo great presentation and relate-ability to the still learning and developing players of the game! :D
Another great vid. Jonathan is very entertaining and I think the putting style Johannes is recommending is dead on - simple, easy to replicate. Keep it up Latitude 64!
This video is perfect. I’m new to disk golf as well and I have had a very similar experience as you and these videos have been super helpful. Thank you. You rock!
@@Latitude64 Channel your inner Tomas! Lol. Na, just play for par, if you can't get par on a hole minimize damage. Dont sweat it.. Have fun. Oh also record it and post it 😄👍
Johannes’ “pull” putting is (imho) a more apt description. Find your stance, get comfortable, smooth pull across “board” with a committed effort. You got this Jonathan.
I really enjoy watching your progress. It's one thing to learn from Paul Mcbeth, but you don't see him get better, and I'm not sure he's capable of demonstrating what not to do. Keep at it, love the series
@@Latitude64 I think that if you keep following this thread, you'll eventually cover anything I could think of. Again, really enjoying the content, and it is helping me along in my journey.
This is why I think joining a league can really help newer players. There is this perception that you have to be good to join one, but most seasoned players don't mind helping out given people display proper course etiquette. Awesome tips I will try them out as I'm still trying to figure out putting lol!
So good! The fundamental mechanics of putting. Watch Eagle and McBeth putt their unique styles using this very same sp-ush technique. Thank you for taking the effort to give us your great (and funny) videos.
Congratulations, YOU HAVE a Putting STROKE!!! From watching you my biggest advice would be to loosen up the body so you can use all your power. Nice job , keep it up.
Awesome video as usual Jonathan! Still working on my putting myself so I'll take some tips from this video and the previous one and work them both into a practice routine for myself as soon as I get my hands on a practice basket for my yard.
Great putting video! My putts look exactly like yours did Jonathan, where they were lofty and didn't have any power. I am excited to go out and practice with some better technique!
My #1 tip for clean release and putts without wobble is to realize that you do *not* aim with your wrist motion. The wrist only gives spin to the disc. By rotating your forearm you decide the hyzer/anhyzer angle. You aim the actual throw with your arm. If you try to aim with your wrist at the last second, you will get wobble. It's really hard to correct at first and you should start really close to the basket and make sure every putt comes out clean. To really test yourself and this concept, you can try to putt with a massive nose up, just for practice. To hit the basket you actually need to punch/aim with the arm below it, and keep the wrist angled for nose up, because the disc will rise up to the basket. It really is weird mentally because it feels like you aim both low and high at the same time. You can actually use this nose up putt for really low ceiling putts, when you don't have room to give it an arc in the air. But for longer putts, or putts into a headwind, they are not as good.
Double sleeve tat guy is awesome. Very likable and is very believable in his “I’m no good at disc golf” routine. Thusly, very effective at teaching and promoting the game. And his interaction with the pro guy (Tómas or something?) is great. Any way you guys can teach me how to fix my form? I can’t throw as far as my friends and they laugh at me.
Haha thank you. I can assure you that the lack of knowledge regarding disc golf is 100 percent real. I'm trying to learn tho :). A form video is in the making and if we make more maybe theres a chance to get some help with your form. But were still testing the format. Have a good one! /jonathan
