Damn nice collection. I’m stuck between generations. Growing up drooling over the XM177’s and was never issued a CAR15. But I have a serious fondness for my ole A2. Currently have an XM177 and am building a 633 DOE 9mm. Oh…..Sub’d ❤

Nice build! And yeah the Colt receiver makes it seem even cooler. good choice on making the repairs instead of sending it back, because your time is worth money too, and you're going to have less time in the repairs than the cost and time of returning it, not to mention it makes it special because you did it

That thing is really sweet. My build isnt a clone, more like an inspired build. Got some A1, A2 and A4 stuff going on haha people hate it.

Some people hate everything lol as I’m sure you know. Nothing wrong with a inspired build!

Did you do your elevation zeroing by using the rear knob? It looks like it. 😂

From what you said in this vid you didn't "build" this. SO many people on the internet talk about their "build" when in fact they are doing nothing of the sort. Only people who are a skilled craftsman capable of manufacturing the parts themselves on actual milling machines can call the end product a "build". That is an extremely low number of people actually. A person who sources all the parts from the manufacturers, gun stores or online gun parts retailers, and then puts it together into a functioning AR can say they "assembled" it. I have assembled and modded many ARs (like so many of us have) but wouldn't have a clue about how to do a "build." Very nice rifle you have there and hope you're enjoying it.

Bought somebody's A4 kit build at a gun show for 550 and got an A2 upper on Arfcom for 200 bucks and paid a gunsmith 60 bucks to swap the barrel from the A4 to the A2 upper.

@@ryanyoder2694by not falling for the “ name” game😂 I’ve got around $800 or so in my A2 clone using H&R upper/lower receivers, Ballistic Advantage 20” barrel and all the rest of the build from various manufacturers. It’s not necessary to have “ Colt” stamped on the side to make it a period correct piece as there were several manufacturers producing M16’s for the Vietnam war. And yes, when parts ran low, they would get components from different sources, the government said get these weapons out the door to the troops, so they did what they had to do to get the job done.

Yea it should fit as long as your upper has the triangle end cap it’s the part that it’s against the front sight post that the handguards go into. Some none GI spec 20 inch uppers use the round M4 end cap

The reason you paid waaaaaaaay to much for that upper receiver is because you paid for a name😂 H&R from Palmetto State are the same receivers at a much more reasonable price and they also made the same components for the Vietnam era M16’s. Never had any problems out of mine and it’s very accurate at the range.
