Do you have experience with the large diaphragm capsules? I'm curious about the differences between the 101, 102 and 103 Capsules. I'm assuming the 101 has the largest sensor and the 103 the smallest. Love how versatile the MK-012 is.
how does this perform in a untreated small bedroom space? Wondering if the side wall reflections performance is better than something i'd find in a dynamic or LDC
that kind of thing will depend on positioning and whether its in omni or cardiod/super-cardiod. in a small bedroom space id use super cardiod and position the mic directly at the sound source. also, i know its a recycled talking point, but treat your room. it really is essential and doesn't need to be expensive. DIY absorption panels, diffusers, etc are worthwhile. then you wont have to worry so much about this line of questioning in most cases.
It’s better than ANYTHING you can get for the price. Different capsules, but start w the cardioid or super. You can find inexpensive ones on eBay. Look for silver flathead screws. Not Chinese. They’re great. You won’t be disappointed.
I go between using the Omni and cardioid. I like the sound of the Omni, but of course they're not as focused as the cardioid. And if I was using an XY pair I would use the super cardiod. The capsules are all identical, the only difference is the size of the opening on the back plate. You could even make a super super cardioid version by taping the backside vents off with a piece of electrical tape. That might be cool for a high hat or a snare top.

I read online the Russians used flat blade screws. China used phillips head.

The 101 has a capsule like the 219, composite transducer. the 102 has a front address K67 capsule, and the 103 a side address.
would you say these (current production) oktava's are better than the Shure sm81's or ksm137 / 141's?

use sound blankets or moving blankets to eliminate reverb, they are a cheap solution

Nice video. It's a very cheap mic, but one of the best mic in the market.

I recommend the Large Diaphram condenser, 102 or 103 version for voice. But this mic would be good for podcasting too.

The most overrated mics. I bot a pair of this mics. I was very disappointed. I use one as talk back mic but don't like to record on them.
