Oh my! That was a very narrow road through the village! I can't believe you made it around the corner with staircase and the trash cans.I've never seen suspended trash cans before. The funicular was so steep. It did bring you to pure "Frenchiness" though. That seafood looked awesome! In New England we dunk everything in melted butter. I've never heard of seafood and Mayonnaise. I love the adventures with Elton. Going round those perilous village roads is mesmerising! BUT. I absolutely adore the foodie bits. The food always looks stunning and my mouth is perpetually watering!! If I could come with you on these adventures I’d die a happy, and probably quite large, man!🤪🤪

@@MeandMonAmi Thanks Tim, I've been busy with some work trying to recover business wise from the pandemic, but I've been designing and building some solar and EV battery packs, and related products for eBikes and light aircraft. I contacted the portable AC company in Texas and they said they would reach out to you, they were intreuged by the AMI market potential, but with the hot summer are totally out of stock until Fall or winter. I'll drop you a line.

I so wanted an AMI, but as you know the UK are dragging their heals on providing them, so I got an old 24KW LEAF. I could feel your range anxiety at the end of this video as I have done it to myself. I can't wait to see next week and how you manage to charge 'off grid'. I got home twice now without completely running out but the panic you show is so real. Mr. Boo you seem to stay so calm in every situation Tim has put you through. This was one of your best videos, keep it up.

Haha, love all the references to TV and the seafood man going round the pubs. It will be good to see how the Bluetti AC200 Max helps as it is about the smallest physically that does charge the Ami and therefore also has its limits without the solar panels.

Omg what a video, best yet, were in suspence and hanging for part 2, looking forward too it. Loved it. We went to Saint Janette its beautiful and the views awesome. We ended up with our 3008 through the village, totally missing the carpark which isn't well sign posted, you know the French road signs are notorious and narrow isn't the word lol, we came across two police officers and they kindly directed us back to the carpark. It was terrifying at the same time, our mirrors soon got pulled in lol

Epic! 🙂 Two nice things about driving (abseiling?) through Contes: the Ami is tiny, silent and clean, so none of the residents could possibly have been disturbed or upset; and the steep hills would have been good for the battery via the vehicle's regenerative braking. Er... if the Ami has regenerative braking, that is.
I'm reduced to pedalling a grotty old bicycle everywhere these days; my range is unlimited and 'recharging' is not a problem as long as I remember to pack sufficient quantities of choccy biscuits. [I'm such a naughty girl...]
it does have regenerative braking. We did a video on it if you are interested called can it recharge itself?

Nice cliffhanger episode! Literally a cliffhanger although the double roundabout drive through the narrow winding Contes street reminds one of the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco! The most fun drive is around a series of zigzags and blind curves. As for the cute funicular, its definitely a ride to remember. Next week we’ll find out if Elton indeed made it to Cascade or if it didn’t happen, you’d be up there without a paddle. What’s life without waiting for the thrill ahead? A standout episode!

Try A Better Route Planner. Has the Ami as a choice of cars. Takes ascent/descent into account when calculating the route.

Perhaps Citroen could make part of the battery pack a user plug-in unit for just this type of get-you-home situation. Rather like camping gaz, every magazin, meubles emporium and essence facility could hold a stock of fully-recharged ones and customers just hand-over the expended battery pack and a modicum of dosh and walk away with a re-charged unit

No,on the extremely steep passage!
That funicular is so last Tuesday if you want a real white knuckle ride with accompanying g-forces try the one at Greenford train station in West London, now that baby will give you an adrenaline buzz. In fact it's a double whammy up on the escalator down on the fun-icular the five year old thinks it's a real thrill.
As for hill climb at the end, the car size lumps missing from the curbstones ... thats the only thing between you and the precipice, terrifying, no place for bad weather driving, distractions using your phone and 'invulnerable' boy racers or incompetent learner drivers....
It’s a cracking funicular, I won’t hear a word against it!;

Some time ago, after returning from an sunny island holiday, I was sat around the kitchen table (back in the UK) with my brother and his (not the sharpest tool in the box!) wife...
I was telling them how delightful my holiday had been , but bemoaning the fact that I do not like flying...however...
I explained that, after a lot of googling I had discovered that it was possible to hitch a ride on cargo ships!..as a passenger.
They were of course slower than flying, and nothing like a cruise ship, but...
You received your own private cabin and dinned in the canteen with the crew.
My brothers wife then asked me (innocently)..."will you have to work your passage?"
I replied...well I don't mind mopping the deck now and again, but I have to draw the line some where!

Is it possible to put a solar on the roof, to charge the Bluetti while driving?
Pur some of that enery into a battery rather than to heat up the cabin.
Not without major mods and I think the amount you would generate wouldn’t really be that worthwhile but I might be wrong?
@@MeandMonAmi yes the energy you would get is possibly about just 200-300 W peak at best conditions.
I guess you could get at most 3 km extra every hour of good sun. An even at 45 km/h I wouldn't be surprised if anything fixed to the roof might cause enough deag to increase consumption more than you gain.
It's not a lot of energy you possibly coukd gain, if you address the aerodynamics, but compared to just heating the cabin from the sun I think solar charging makes sense as a consept.
However, I wouldn't expect much economy just from the charging, but if it could help to lower the cabin temperature from the sun, I think there is some value in that. An if you gan gain range ever so slightly at the same time, I wouldn't mind.
