- GB Railfreight 69009 'Western Consort' freshly painted from Eastleigh Works, hauled by 66719 'Metroland' to Eastleigh Yard ahead of it being taken to Doncaster Works for wiring.
Gotta say... 69009 'Western Consort' looks brilliant... A wonderful tribute to the Class 52 'Westerns' or '1000s'... Well done to GBRf. Excellent.

As someone who grew up with class 52s, THAT is an epic tribute!
Now THAT'S a fabulous retro livery, especially for a GWR/WR fan like me. It even has the special BR roundel logo on the capsides.

A grid impersonating a D1000, and it looks FABULOUS.

Being 009 surely Western Invader would have been more appropriate?
It's a fine paint job. I wonder if the guy in the hi-vis jacket at the platform end actually works on the railway. If he does, OK, but if not he is not helping the cause of rail enthusiasts by wearing that, as it is requested that 'platform-enders', photographers, etc., do not wear orange hi-vis stuff to avoid confusing drivers.

Shows that GBRF are owned and run by people that love railways which is important and something different to see i suppose , still cant get excited by a class 69 though
Saw the name and looked - 'that looks odd for a 52' thought me LOL!
Not sure about the white window surrounds, but the maroon is lovely, reminds me of 47973 a little, one of my favorite liveries on on the 47.
Same I think, black window surrounds would of looked better.
What a superb livery job and a great tribute to the "Westerns". I wonder why the picked "Consort"? They must have their reasons. I would have thought maybe with it being 009 they would have picked "Invader"? Consort was D1065.

69 009 western consort? Surely It should have been western invader? Not sure what the heck is going on with this livery ? I think one of these would have looked good as all white falcon prototype?
Brilliant video these 69 s has anyone seen them working under full load? All the videos I've seen they dont seem to do much, mind you liveing near Cheltenham thr railway activities isn't to good here,
