I really appreciate your thoughtful advice. I too am working on improving my pace. I’m probably doing too many slow and easy and not enough challenging runs. Adding some hills and strides to my workouts. You’re right. We need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. At least for a while. Thanks Holly! Have a safe and wonderful holiday season. 😀🏃🏻‍♀️🌈

Thanks for making this video, learned a lot. Would also like to add a vote for a TFL-specific video, it's something that's been bothering me lately too as I start to ramp up my running base after time off. Thanks again!

Hi Holly, your insights to running are amazing. THANK YOU! I’m a 60 year old male that just started running again (2 weeks in) after 30 yrs. My wife I are training to run a Marathon. 😮. We are using the Nike Run Club app it’s a 18 week program that incrementally increases. Today I completed my long run for week 2 at 6.2 miles with 13.4 average pace none stop. My wife is 4 weeks into her training and ran 10 miles today. She is awesome. I feel really good since we are trekkers with 100 mile back country hikes and much more under our belts. Do you recommend the Nike Run Club app? I really like the structured program. My wife and I watch all your videos and have incorporated your tips into our training. I need to work on nutrition. Please keep your videos coming, they are motivating! Thank you again!

Thank you! I enjoy these recorded Q & A. So 6 weeks ago, I was struggling to run for 20 min.
I now run 5 times a week & longest run of 10 miles today! When I was really tired at 8 miles, I recalled your tips on the cadence video & started really trying to pick up feet up.
I love any videos on running form & basic drills for speed work on how you run if this is possible.
We are plant based & totally agree with your comment on eating what is good for your body versus measuring… I took your tip about having a snack on the run! Wow! 🤩 I felt like I ran faster the next 2 miles!!!
My husband & watch your videos constantly after our runs to figure out how to improve.

Nice video. I'm slowing on my runs. This past November, I ran a half marathon, 2:49, and the one before was 2:23. I'm getting old.

I'm usually not able to follow your live Q&A's (due to time) so for me this is equally good, maybe even better since you didn"t have to answer on the fly and had time to think about your answers. The only question I currently have is: why isn't it getting any better and when is it going to go easier? :D But you already answered those previously :D

Learned a lot from the video about running strategies! Please do a part 2.
I feel so bad you've been told to get skinnier, you look amazing. Seems to be me like this kind of job can promote eating disorders 😢 I'm tracking macros and I'm about your build (also doing a lot of strength and my body is obviously "bigger" as a result) and I've been told that a few times even though my body fat isn't high. I feel like it's very rude to get this comment just because my look doesn't sit well with someone's beauty standarts...

I did a half marathon today. What helps me is using a metronome to keep pace. I’m not a fast runner and kept it at 170 spm and that kept me on pace throughout the run. Came in at 2:29:08. That is a PR for me.

Hi Holly! Thank you for all that info! I love watching all of your videos. You’re truly an amazing coach, so knowledgeable and you make it so fun! :) thank you! I have a question for you. I have completed 4 marathons, and I plan on doing more and more! The thing I struggle with when I’m training for them is I always seems to lose my butt! It turns into a total pancake butt. I do feel like my strength training for my lower body is less when I’m training for marathons bc my legs feel sore/tired from all the running. The thought of doing a hard leg workout and being too sore after having that affect my runs is what is stopping me from doing more leg workouts. Any advice to keep stronger glutes while training for marathons? Thank you so much!!
