      @7own878 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are just making them mistakes first. Chess is often about keeping cool and just minding your own business, while peeking at your opponents business. You should play for structure rather than wait for your opponent to blunder.

    42:40... He says "Put all your pawns on dark squares and give up your light squared bishop"... I don't understand that concept of the color squares your pawns are on and which Bishop you want vs you want to take. Anyone have a good source to explain that for us lowly 700 rated players?

    • @TH3G3N3S1S
      @TH3G3N3S1S 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you put your pawns on dark squares you block every chance for movement on dark squares, thats why a light squared bishop is more valuable since you can move between those dark squared pawns.

    I haven't tried the king's indian defense yet, but I have played the king's indian attack with white in a couple rapid tournaments on Lichess for players under 1300. I just got 6th out of about 86 players, with a 1712 performance. The hardest thing for me is to push the pawns out in front of my king. About 1/2 my loses in these 10+0 rapid tournaments are due to me getting flagged. This opening allows me to play a little faster and stay out of time trouble a little better. I'm going to watch more of the games with black now and play stockfish 3 some for practice. I've been playing the Scandinavian and London with black and this will be a fun alternative. Thanks.

    Is there a missed chance for white to win some material or mate at 29:25? The king is stuck at the end of that white diagonal and if black blocks with knight black gets mated by the rook on the a file.

    • @willoschOG
      @willoschOG 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean if White played h4 followed by Bh4? I mean, I'm not sure if I like what you are doing to the pawn structure there, doesn't seem worth it, just to be up an exchange.

    • @RaptureReady2025
      @RaptureReady2025 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@willoschOG even worse, white plays h4 and black pushes his pawn to g4 and blocks the diagonal and also attacks whites knight. It’s a good plan but white can’t get his bishop check on bh5 for it to work. Plus even if white could , it’s only being up an exchange… there’s no mate here. Def a candidate move and props for seeing it. 👍🏼

    28:14 why would black go knight b4 and why is that dangerous if your queen is on e2? wouldnt you just take with the pawn? why would that be so bad for you that you avoid it altogether?

    • @irjake
      @irjake 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's saying the knight would go to b4 if you didn't play c3 first. Now it would be threatening c2, forking your rook and queen on e1 (which is where he wanted to move his queen to get out of the pin).
