- Watch the white car w/black "bra" on it, coming in from the right, out on the main road.
~Just another reminder that we never know what we may see on these live bird cams! I was doing other online things on my desktop when I heard this screeching of tires going on. I had the HG Osprey live feed open on another tab, was watching/listening to a TV show on another. I knew the tires "burning out" sound didn't come from the show, so I peeked in on our beloved osprey family. 'Sure enough - there it was!
~How ridiculous of them! I can see doing that in the snow, but doing that in a parking lot, in the summer? WTH? Either way - dry or in snow, it's illegal to do. I will admit, I sure have done it in the snow or have been in the vehicle with others doing it.
~I also looked it up = in Missoula, MT - this is considered criminal mischief. Naughty-naughty people.
~~I'm just glad that Iris and "the kids" weren't at all phased by it as they are acclimated to all the human caused noises in their area.

is sheltered from the sun. It must have been hot weather there
@@MarianneLeinonen Yes, Iris worked super hard and did a fabulous job over the summer! They suffered heat all the way up to 100F!
~Iris would = stand w/sun behind her, moving all throughout those hot days, opening her wings a bit to be a "Mombrella" a parasol for their babies, giving them precious shade. She would also make frequent fast trips to the river, coming back soaked to then have her wet, cooled body and wings for babes to lean into. Sometimes she would also fan them w/those huge wings of hers.
~She's a super mom, that's for sure! 🥰

Well you know... either someone young OR immature and of any age acting foolishly - trying to show off to/impress someone OR... trying to make someone laugh OR.... trying to scare someone... OR wth knows. 🤣All I know, didn't hear anything from the birdies, so was watching some show and I KNEW there were no screeching tires going on there! so I checked the cam and AHA! There's the culprit. 😂

Howdy Catherine. The day that I made this video, I also posted it on The Hellgate Osprey account in Twitter. I figured it would be up to them to decide whether the law ought be informed about it or not. I have no idea whether the person or people in that car even know about the nest.
~As you can see, the birds were surprisingly undisturbed by it. We know it can be noisy there at times - the trains can make an occasional ruckus, other traffic/emergency vehicles flying by, humans being loud as they frolic down at, and in, the river behind the nest, etc... 'Choppers fly just overhead too at times.
~~So at least it's good that the osprey we love are totally used to the occasional loudness in their nesting place.
They're just trying out their car and most people don't look up.
Who knows what they are doing or why - but hey, I get it and I've done my share of wild and crazy things myself. And no, I didn't presume everyone knows about the osprey in the nest there. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't know the osprey fam is nesting there...
~You might be right re "trying out their car", or trying out someone else's or showing off to someone or... or... or... 🤣 Who knows their motive but they do some damage to both the tires and their vehicle when doing burnouts like that.
@@DLionheart haha after purchase of tires a couple times, and car repairs, they'll stop.
I think a lot of people don't notice birds. I've been teaching my bf about them. He's a sports guy, a ground person. I'm a creature of nature and keep my eyes to the skies, and trees, and bushes, and ground too.
Anyway, he's really interested now and we check on the nests together daily.

~Ya, I was never coming from a place of thinking they did this as any connection to Iris and her family. I was talking about them acting like "idiots" in general, period. 🤣😉
~~And yes, totally agree - some of us are all up in nature, look all around, whenever we can, wherever we are. Others go about their business w/out paying much attention to nature at all... Over the yrs, people have asked me how I have seen SO much re nature/wildlife and my answer is always the same and very simple - I LOOK!! 🤣😍
