What do people expect? Once people are dead and buried they tend to stay that way, or do people somehow think that they came back to life and that their graves were demolished as no longer necessary??
?? People are surprised that graves of WW2 bad guys are still around and can be located. Not that the bodies or ashes in them have come back to life. The reason for this is that these were bad guys and they're still shown so much respect meanwhile their victims did not get such respect and also sometimes their graves serve as shrines for extremists. Usually the bad guys who were executed at Nuremberg had their ashes scattered in rivers or they were buried in unmarked graves.
Today's dictators have a huge advantage over their predecessors. Most of the world today values stability and generally the world's great democracies don't interfere in the internal politics of other countries. The day's of attempting to assassinate foreign leaders with exploding cigars seem to be far behind us. I am hoping that in my lifetime my government will learn to work with any other foreign leader whether they are democratically elected or a brutal dictator that seized power in a bloody coup. The citizens of each country should be the only ones with any say on who their leaders are and how they are chosen. Sorry about the novel and going wayyyy off topic
You are wrong regarding Hirohito, as the Japanese government was under the control of the Japanese Army, in particular Hideki Tojo with Hirohito relegated to a de facto figurehead. He was able to break free in August 1945 to go around the Army faction that tried to assassinate him to prevent him from ordering Japan to surrender. Enough of the Army joined with the Navy to support the surrender.
He may been mostly a figure head, but he didnt say much during the war but knew what was happening. Maybe thats why the imperial family wont let historians review their records publically.
@baruchavraham1939 I hate to break it to you but when hirohito was a figurehead if he did something out of line he could've got assassinated so yeah intimidation was a thing which is so wrong now a days
Perhaps Hirohito was initially in favor of some invasions (like China, Indochina and at most the allied positions in China🇹🇼🇻🇳🇱🇦🇰🇭) because it is worth remembering that in his time many Japanese supported military expansions because they saw them as something divine and that they were destined to do perhaps or support this as I already mentioned or it was done to the clueless because as they already mentioned, he was protecting his life and the Japanese army was already you will remember how it was.

I lived in Italy, to me it seemed rude to bring up the war with my Italian coworkers, so I didn't. I was shocked to learn just this year (I am 67) that Mussolini's body wasn't destroyed and scattered and allowed to become a shrine. Some of the great tragedies of that war was that so many war criminals were allowed to escape and even when it was known where they were, the world did nothing. Then there are the nations like the US that allowed them in and used them too.

Since when is admiring somebody wrong? Even if that person is a very controversial historical figure to say at the very least. You can admire somebody without agreeing or liking them. You can also agree with certain opinions and admire achievements of somebody without liking that person.
@bradleywilkinson8882 my family served under the Italian Fascist regime and we thrived. The mafia members were hung from street lights, the church was safe, no crime, more jobs. Hundreds of years of us being poor washed away in little time. Mussolini saved us and Meloni is doing that too. 🇮🇹
