Please Sir I just want to know what is the role of cutting orbicularis in upper blepharoplasty? Some surgeons prefere to cut it others not and some on/off according to situation.please are there guidelines for that or new trend ? Thanx Dr.Hilmi
+Глеб Ворончихин Firstly the muscle that elevates the eye has to relax. The circular orbicularis muscle then contracts. As it wraps all the way around the eye (with attachments medially and laterally) it acts as a purse string and closes the eyelids. The upper lid is also assisted in closure by gravity - when you are upright. Human anatomy is amazing. Best wishes. Ric
One could not present this in a simpler way! Thanks a lot.
Excellent and very well drawn representation which is the basis of all lid surgeries. Dr. M.S.
After searching youtube for 30 mins. Finally an eyelid anatomy that covers all the layers.
Hi Rida. Delighted you like the video. I ensure all my fellows can draw this diagram. It is the cornerstone of our surgery. Best wishes.
