You just don’t realise that there is so much involved in putting up a fence. Such an interesting process to follow along with, and Van was definitely the man for the job.
Looks like the whole family got a lesson in fence building. We're confident you and Ang will do a great job with the installation. And you know we're always around to answer all your questions. Great video!
Van is the kind of guy that if you have any questions about fencing he is the guy to go to. You have the right idea as to getting a pro to show how to build a lasting fence. great video
This gentleman is definitely a master at what he does. This was fascinating to watch and I learned a lot and I don't even need a fence LOL Excellent video! Nice to see him teaching your son as well.
Thanks for sharing Sam I never knew there was so much involved in doing a proper fence installation. Greg did a great job explaining the process. Hope the fence lasts you for many years.
Holy cow man. I learned more in 30 minutes than I ever did growing up on the farm in Arkansas. That was a while ago and technology has certainly changed, but man that was some cool techniques. I hope you bought that man a beer or two, or an iced tea, or BBQ, or whatever. Invite him back any time he is around! Thanks, Mitch
Thank you Mitch, the ultimate goal for us is to educate and help great families like Sam and Angela build fences that will last them for a long time, keeping their family and livestock safe.
Sam, you difinitely had the correct instructor teaching you how a fence should be installed. Van explained the step by step process not only to you but also to us as viewers. He was so easy to understand and very informative. In my opinion, this was one of your best videos. Hats off to your friend Van, he is top-notch in my book. Great job to both of you. Robin in Philippi, WV.
Wow! Who knew there was so much in putting up a fence!? Van explained so good! That's a good looking fence and helpful with keeping out any predators...well, maybe weasels could still get in!😂😂😂 Hope y'all have an awesomely blessed week! Oh yeah! I thought I smelt pintos, fried taters and onions the other day!😂 Have an awesome day!
That might be the best fencing video I’ve seen! You had an excellent pro there. And better than hiring it done, he’s taught you how. Plus, we got to see all the cool tools and fasteners and the techniques required to build a solid fence that will stand up against livestock pressure.
I’ve really enjoyed every one of your videos. This video though is next level. Van did an excellent job of explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. You couldn’t have picked a better guy to do this job.
Sam, this was one of your best videos in my opinion. A very good balance of Homestead vlogging and adding educational value in the video. It was also great to see the boys helping and learning in the process as well. Great job is so many ways...
Wow! That man was invaluable. Lots to putting up a fence that I wasn't aware of. Thank you for sharing this with us. We have a big piece of property but didn't have to fence it. There was already fence there. Not as good as what you've done. (I am jealous!)
Wtg Sam!!! 🤜 This surely beats the way Papa and I did it with a comealong, staples, and a hammer! Thank you for sharing this! Say hi to Angela and the boys for me! 👋 ✌️💖🙏🤜
You can set your post with tractor. Have Angela hold the post to start it to keep it level it drives it easy.Lester did his, Jason on his channel did a bunch of post with his tractor, think they used the bucket.
Thanks for sharing your story. I think it's great! You guys look like you are having fun and it's pretty cool! Don't worry about other people and their negative responses. I think you guys are doing great!
when doing low points especially it extra wet or damp area we you use a large boulder 🪨 make wrapped with wire then braided into fence wire wet ground doesn't hold post well and short life from rotting or corrosion
Thank you for this video. In a couple months I’m going to be fencing my garden in and your video showed me what needs to be done and I am going to hire professionals to do it. I have most materials, so I hope they will work with me and use the materials I have, I waited two years to get a decent garden going and trying to hire a handyman and that hasn’t worked out. So this year I will hire professionals and get the job done. It will cost me more but at least I’ll have my garden this year and in future years too because it will be professionally done.
Good luck with your garden fence install. We've got a list of professional installers, feel free to reach out and we'll be happy to find one close to you.
Wow, that’s so much information to absorb at one time! How many times will y’all have to rewatch your own videos while doing the work yourselves? (I’d have to watch several times!)
Sam, I did not know you and your family had a homestead channel. I've been watching your Samcraft channel videos on your building projects for many months now. I just saw today that you had this channel, so i came over here to subscribe and do some binge watching LOL. Ill be joining the homestead YT video posting soon, you give me ideas, ty.
I'm almost 63 years old. Lived in farm areas all my life. I've never seen or heard of putting wooden posts every 100 ft in a line fence. The only wood, if any, is the H braces. Or the gate supports.
I did one corner post of termination knots and could barely close my hands the next day. Gripple T Clips for the win, pricy but %1000 worth the expense.
As an older woman was amazed at all the new tools to speed things along, I couldn't follow him perfectly because of his accent and him using fence terms as if we knew what they were. But I'll probably never build a fence so no problem.
One of the things you forgot to do was to have a filming of the completed end of the project. What good is it to show all that detailed filming if there is no overall showing of the end purpose. In filming, you have a beginning, a middle, and an end. You forgot the end. You needed a nice long shot of the completed fence. Just a comment. I really appreciated the details, though.
when it comes to specialty tools rent or barrow rather than buy once done my not ever need again or it will be corroded and missing parts when you do need it
You just don’t realise that there is so much involved in putting up a fence. Such an interesting process to follow along with, and Van was definitely the man for the job.

A true fencologist! There's more to it than you'd think.
It is a real pleasure watching a true professional work and explain his craft!!!
I had no idea how much resultant vectoring needed to be addresseed by running a wire fence. Thanks, Van and Sam, for 'learning' me something today.
That was very interesting, Sam. I didn’t know there was that much to do putting up fence lol. Great video thanks for sharing and have a great day!!!
Bekaert did several fencing projects on Our Wyoming Life. It was good seeing this company helping another hard-working family.
Nice to see you recognized us from both channels! Thanks for watching!

Wow so much work going on in putting a fence up.. I’ll see fence now and know how much work went into its installation.

Awesome Video
Quick question. I was looking to see if I could spot the orchard, didn't you guys start an orchard?
I did one corner post of termination knots and could barely close my hands the next day. Gripple T Clips for the win, pricy but %1000 worth the expense.
Good job
Is that snow I see?

More fencing.
Didn't quite catch that. Could you repeat?
That was a lot. And now I see why so many fences fail.
