At the level of the gods there are still division and segregation. That’s why we have high god , low Demi gods, evil dark gods , Titans and Olympians etc. There were war in heavens amongst the gods aswell as gods of light vs gods (not the same as Asuras or demons etc) of darkness. These have been here for very long time. The idea you talking about comes from the creator of everything and no one religion knows much about the real creator of everything.

With all due respect I completely disagree. Frankly my dog gives only unconditional love. I dont know any humans that can do that. So if my dog is a lower life form than I simply because I'm in the body of a human being. I think I'd rather be a "lower life form" then. I find it rather sad that you think this way as you will never know the feeling of true unconditional love that you would receive through the love of a dog. Human beings are superior because God gave them brain with higher iq and eq thus they have all kind of feelings love, anger , greed, selfishness etc. Now it's become your duty how you live your life. The way you live your life on the same way you will get rewards ( negative and positive both) that's karma.
Dog loves unconditionally because they have no such superior brain like humans so they are innocent.
If you can over come all the badness within you and live your entire life with goodness then definitely you will understand why human beings are superior.

Helping the baby Deer was not wrong! It was the right thing to do. King Bharat's mistake was that he developed Attachment. Once he took Vairagya, King Bharat should have helped with Non-Attachment. As Shri Lakhani always advocated, understanding the underlying Principle is important here. This might only be a Story, not a historical event, because every new-born animal like the human-beings requires mother's milk in the first few days/months of its life to survive. It doesn't start eating solid food/grass/meat right away. Unless King Bharat had arranged milk from another source or surrogate animal mother, saving this baby deer would not be possible.
I believe my Maltese, Gypsy, was a reincarnated human. I often asked her, who are you in that little white fur coat. I've had doggies all my long life but never one like this precious one.
This sounds too simplistic - showing compassion to an animal does not mean attachment - it shows a better understanding of the entire creation. There are too many holes in this theory. When out of the mortal body, I believe we see our full soul/spirit. Reincarnation would have to reference to the experience of the entire spirit/soul of an entity.

Gita says that based upon your unfulfilled desires your next body is determined. Animal body is for sensual pleasure, bodies of trees for those who expose their bodies. Trees are naked. Bharata could have become somebody who protects deers

I do not see being an animal is anything inferior to human. If human are as loyal, honest and pure as dogs, this world will be a better place. I question your view of being careful not to come back as an animal life form. We only transit using our body. We have been through many lifeforms already. Whether being a dog or human next life makes no difference to the grand plan. I believe many people like being a dog. You sleep 20 hours a day, accumulate no karma and turn around in 10 odd years. :-)
There are an infinite number of souls and an infinite number of universes, so the question of how there are more people in the world is completely irrelevant and illustrates the shortcomings and limitations of limited minds. Also, many animals are more enlightened than people, so I reject the presupposition that to be reborn as the former is somehow an inferior and unpreferable situation than to be a man. An animal can become a human when it starts to develop the characteristics of a human. BUT, the soul experience limit of animals are very small and it will take many life forms of being in continuous contact with human unless one becomes one, While an animal who was previously a human can again become a human when devoted to a Human Saint as its soul experience was once as large as a human's (though diminished due to de-evolution) but only when his birth as that animal was due to attachment and not by transforming into its character, if he transforms into one, it will take as many births as it would take that animal to transcend. Again, an animal can become a human in its next birth when by the kripa of the Saint. In this case of Bharata, his soul evolution did not diminish as he did not become like the deer and was just having an attachment to it. While in these days, many people are becoming like their pets, which causes them to de evolve into their pet's personality. De-evolution takes place when one forgets their character into a lower being's character. While evolution takes place when one transcends their character into a higher character, BUT only human body can help one to reach and unite with God, those who only ascend till angels or demi gods will have to come back to human life to ascend to much higher level.

It is true. The thing is we are all energies vibrating at different frequencies due to our life experiences. And the one at which we are vibrating at the time of death, we become that in next life. For example, a girl showcasing herself on Instagram n if she rip, she becomes a tree in next life, similarly if someone is being all ruthless and animal, just killing and eating other animals, then it becomes lion in other life. The energy we project is the combination of thoughts and how we became due to life experience. The true way to moksha is to control ourselves and not be carried away by the desires by realising that we are just energy. This doesn't mean to not help the dog or cat, but to do that without thinking about the result and keeping our focus on the fact that we are just doing our duty as a human being. This way our frequency remain untouched by the winning or failure and we remain under same frequency under all conditions. Thats how deep, otherwise labelled as called "mythological" Hinduism goes. The reality is that the heartbreaks, our wants to have things and other incidents distorted us so much that we don't even have control on our thoughts, body, mind and soul. We ni longer have instincts that tells us right or wrong. Its like the machine is working, but only luckily. To get me better, tell me if a naked chic come to you will u say no? No one will. Through this story, Mr. Lakhani is implicating that too much of an association/attachment/desire towards any being or object is undesirable! That cannot be true. A sage also has desires, but his desires are non-binding, meaning that he is the master of desires not a slave. We must be desire-free not desire-less! Obviously, it is Awareness' desire to express itself through life; otherwise life would not be possible!

I believe that you can reincarnate as an animal, but I do not think it was bad for the king to be a deer. That is our interpretation. Why being a King is good, it can also be a very bad experience. Why being rich is better than living in the forest? That would mean that the ego is more important than the peace of the soul? No.. I don't agree. I think we reincarnate in what we need as it is the process of the soul. As much as we need to live different experiences during human life, our soul also needs to live different experiences, none of them are bad. Bad is an interpretation as well. Nothing is bad, we are only learning. In my opinion, putting animals under humans, and giving a hierarchy is not realistic. We are all part of Gaia. Plants, humans and animals, we all hold an important role in the balance of life.

No one knows real truth of soul and all other matter in the universe. So if someone applies his whole knowledge to answer these questions, its is obvious that many other theories or sides exists for the same. Logic is also based upon knowledge gathered by our senses and one should at least believe that human senses has its own limitations. The idea of being reincarnated as a dog does not sound like a bad thing. Of course, it has the potential to be bad, because dogs like all other life forms, have the ability to suffer. However, the dogs that have been part of my family, seem to be enjoying life much more than most humans including myself. I would not mind coming back as a beloved pet dog. Seems like it could be a simple life filled with love and joy if I was lucky enough to get good owners.

Attachment is bad. Why? it limits your expansion. Reason why sages say focus your attachment or energy onto God? Its because God is all beings and all life. So now your energy will expand to all life and grow exponentially fast. Thats why your graced with knowledge and power or control over this material world. For if your energy is focused on all life then all of lifes answers and power will pour into you. How God boons and blesses his devotees. You will then become as loving and equal or fair as God is.

Did I understand it right that unconditional empathy and compassion towards a living creature, besides human, will bring you down on the evolution scale? What kind of Universal law is it? Love, empathy and compassion to all living beings are the fundamental principles of the humanity, its higher part. Or something has changed?
Any kind of attachment binds you, you may show empathy and compassion towards anyone, any creature but soon as you get attached to them, that attachment binds you to further reincarnation cycles. so do show love and compassion towards all but if you get attached it will have impact on your next life.

The teaching misappropriate's king Bharat's love and care for a deer to attachment. 1. It contradicts the premise that a person's karma and dharma of past life is considered in the next. 2. Atma flows through from one life to another till it achieves oneness with a supreme being, irrespective of whether it was physically born as a human or animal (ex. Ramana Maharishi's beloved cow laxmi). 3. I am from southern india we consider cobra as divinity - as they are receptive to vibes of supreme being and destined to attain supreme being.
I was always taught, once you get to human it takes some major karmatic papas to devolve back into an animal.

If everyone is a reincarnation from a previous life why is the world population increasing and not decreasing?
If there are new souls and not reincarnated ones, where do they come from? And of course very importantly; where did the first person come from - he or she could not have been reincarnated?
Since each soul should be progressively purified of evil through their many reincarnations why isn't the world becoming a better place to live in?
Do you know India the birth place of Reincarnation, Why is there so much human misery in India where karma and reincarnation have been accepted for centuries?
Do you know what went wrong in your last reincarnation so that you have been reincarnated again this time?
If you can choose your path relatively then How come the karmic law works without moral absolutes?
If you don't know why you have been reincarnated, then how would you fix it without knowing the problem?
Do you know how much your karmic debt you owe to God? If good and evil are same then what is the meaning of karma?
Do you think your so called good (as per your definition) works is increasing the debt or decreasing debt?
If animals have a soul, Can you observe a behavioural difference between two rats based on moral laws?
Reincarnation is illogical because animals cannot reason. So it doesn’t know anything about salvation.
From a strictly logical viewpoint, since no one has ever died and come back to life (except our Lord, Jesus Christ) there is no empirical proof of the claims of those who say they have been reincarnated into this day and age.
There has never, ever, been any credible testable evidence to support the many claims being made about reincarnation, and the supposedly ‘scientific evidence’ which occasionally pops up purporting to support the belief, is inevitably flawed in either or both its methodology or conclusion. It’s a good question some souls could be coming from other worlds or realities and there is definitely less animals in the world than in ancient times. Also our souls may be fragmented meaning that our soul is really multiple fragments or pieces of soul that can live in many realities at once. Even here on earth. Indeed, sould the life force, the spiritual energy , any form of energy cannot be destroyed nor created, soul was never born, it always prevailed, many people remember their past life, most don't, I do not know what I was before, but some people get killed in for example a car accident and take a birth as a baby again and are able to tell whet they were before, my theory on this is that if a soul can take a rebirth within so many minutes after it leaves one body, it can retain memory, on the other hand if a soul having left one body does not enter another one straight away and spends some time thinking about, then by the time it takes a rebirth it has lost all its previous memory, now was that difficult to work out, yes, it took me many years to reach this conclusion.

How about the opposite of what this story is saying ? What if it is more likely that you will reincarnate into a being that you dislike? For example, if you don't like dogs or if you were afraid of dogs, you will reincarnate as a dog; this would serve a worthwhile purpose because when you reincarnate again into probably a human being, you will love dogs, you will then empathize with dogs now because you have been one. The same goes in the case of racism among humans; a racist will probably reincarnate into a race he was prejudiced against. In successive incarnations, he won't feel such prejudices again.

Being reborn as an animal has to do with Tat Tvam Asi - You Are That. First of all reincarnation is not limited to Hindus, it applies to all of us. People want to go to Heaven - a place where they think they will get to live the easy good life - just sit around doing nothing for eternity. Why God would want billions of people just sitting around lazing all day? It doesn't make any sense but amazingly no one bothers to ask that question. But that is what people want and God will make it possible - Heaven is right here - these people will come back as say pets - a dog or a cat - their owner will take good care of them, feed them, shelter them, protect them - pets live in a bubble
My sister's cat does nothing all day - just eats, poops and sleeps - it has been doing that for years! That cat is in Heaven! We humans are animals as well. The key difference lies in degree, not in kind. We are better equipped with language, for instance. We have the capacity to build and rebuild systems of knowledge and pass it down to future generations. This has enable us to evolve our knowledge alongside being shaped by evolution. No other animal on this planet has been control the evolution of its knowledge system in this manner. So in that sense, an animal is 'lowly'. I don't remember if the man in the video used the term 'lowly', but I can understand why a human reborn as an animal- I don't know if reincarnation is real, so I'm going by the story's logic here- would feel frustrated with its animal form and would want to be reborn as a human the next time.
