My dad grew and three bros grew up there, my dad is buried there, I love Lexington. Used to fish the main lake with my grandpa all the time. Someday I'll find the lake behind my grandmother's old place. I Got stuck once at lexington lake, and mentioned my uncle's name. Cop laughed and said what a small world. Other uncle ran the olf Dunbrook coat factory
Loved your adventures in my day. We did not ride scooters 😂 We rode Harleys. No helmet laws is Arizona. 😂 Rode with the wind in our hair!!! Thank you for sharing 👌
Was talking to a former owner of the 827 Main building, and they were renovating a pre-Civil war house when they opened up an exterior wall and it was lined with brick to stop the mini balls that might be coming towards the house.
Used to hang out in Lexington quite often, 40+ years ago. The best way to travel there is old 24 Hwy (224) now. Ate at The Peckerwood Club, that was located on 224, way back when before it closed down. On 827 Main Street, the building was a bank, in 1866, Jesse James and his gang, robbed it. Legend says that there is a tunnel under that building, can’t remember where it led to.
@ I had the lake trout, delish! The motif of the place was a time capsule, right out of the late 40’s, knotty pine paneling with all the pics and knickknacks you would expect in a place like this.
Thanks for taking us along Gents. Civil War history is amazing. When I lived in Virginia, it was so cool to visit all the battlefields and monuments. Just thinking about the time, the logistics and the way they accomplished the things that they did… The Lewis and Clark history is cool too. Now there was a group of folks that had it tough, for sure. BTW, the gold star signifies they died while serving.
@@jramsdenbb thank you for clarifying the gold star. We wanted to include this the week of Veterans Day, I don’t think we thanked those that served in the video, but we hold a special place in our hearts for them for sure.
My wife and I did the Lexington tour. Merlin shows historic things on his travels I know you were trying to get the river done, But passed close like you said next to Lexington history and fort Osage was only hundreds of feet off your path. so many things to do so little time.
I just now discovered this channel and immediately assumed you guys were on Harley hogs. Then I saw the scooters. Totally cool. I'll be visiting Lexington soon.
From that Casey'one uncle's old house is a block if that blue house, sad one built next to it now, used to be a field

Used to be a covered awning over the car hop area, Maid-Rite is the best.
