    “People who read the tabloids deserve to be lied to.”
    That’s a pretty great line.

    The ads are SO hard to take but Jerry is brilliant.

      You'd have really hated the VHS days when you had to fast forward and rewind through commercials. How fortunate today that you can just skip ahead through content you don't want to see in moments.

    I love Jerry. Larry and the writers had the perfect vessel in Jerry.

    When I heard Jerry Seinfeld say in a comedy set, 'I can tall to all of you (a huge audience), but I can't talk to any of you (individual people),' it just clicked: that is EXACTLY my social dilemma. I make my living as a public speaker, and the worst moment is when the public speaking part is over and the audience comes up and they all think that you've connected with them personally, and they want to be your friend, ask you questions about themselves (or worse, you), get your number, contact you later, ask you out for a meal or a drink... I wish I had an entourage and a body guard at that moment. It's the hardest thing in life to keep the 'talking-to-all-of-you persona' running while talking to just one of them, when inside the moment the speech ends, you revert to being completely socially ill-at-ease and wanting nothing more than to get right away to a super-private place and decompress and not see or speak to anyone for a couple of days. It was a watershed moment in my life (and I was in my fifties when I heard him say that), because I found out I was not alone. You can have a huge audience in the palm of your hand, take them anywhere, the rapport, the energy is flowing... But the moment your time is up at the lectern, you just turn into the social equivalent of a pumpkin - nothing to say and dread of being approached by people expecting the on-stage persona in 'real life'.
    Oh, and by the way... inside, I'm totally cranky and spend most of my mental energy correcting everything that's wrong with the world. Mentally I'm writing a book called, 'I Don't Get It' because other people just don't make any sense to me, constantly.

    It’s funny he said that about Hawaii, having grown up there all the uncles are constantly cracking jokes, and honestly local Hawaiians/Hapa Haole(white/Hawaiian/Japanese) are some of the funniest people you could ever meet

      he did say he was socially awkward

    • @bluecollarboys6294
      @bluecollarboys6294 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah that’s his way of combating socially awkward situations. And he’s routinely socially awkward. I couldn’t imagine living in a world where I was afraid or embarrassed in any normal situation in a day. He’s probably a strange guy in person, if you were friends with him, I’d assume he’s that loner guy in your group who’s always up to something weird. He’s probably the Kramer to his friends.
