You did a really good job making that, excellent bit of kit, easy enough to carry with you too if you are overlanding...Do you think it would be ok on a alloy wheel, or likely to damage it? Not to take your thunder, but for people who don't weld, there is an excellent alternative made of wood..Just search for "DiY Bead breaker" on Sam's Hammers TH-cam channel...More aimed at dealing with standard size car tires than your monsters lol.
Looks like a good heavy duty bead breaker. I bought 3 Harbor Freight tire tools/spoons and got a couple of short sections of like black pvc pipe and cut three 6" sections and heated them with a heat gun, slid them over the spoon ends and heated them more to where I could form them over the spoons to match the contour better. They will help keep from scratching rims like painted steel rims or aluminum etc etc. A heat gun can heat pvc pipe or material to the point that it melts so it can be shaped and formed over just about any surface and then cool down to hold that shape.
You have invested in a good set of tire irons there spendy but well worth the cost. I took a wire wheel on my grinder and put oil on the spoon and buffed it into the steel which makes them even better. They slide on the rubber with a little tire lube mixture so they don't cut the bead. Good video 👍
Awesome . I weld . But I haven’t got the chance to become creative to build a bead breaker yet .

Thanks, a very impressive jig.....although at the end of the bar opp. the screw, one could broaden the rim shoe.....though that MIGHT restrict applicability to a small range of rim sizes...... One prob. you dont' seem to have is that of tubeless tyres "rusting" in place: For some reason tyre rubber & rusted steel can form a very strong bond......
@@itchyoldfart I'm not sure could you weld a tube on the nut then weld another nut on that to make it longer. The nut could be bigger to slip over the threads instead of doing a socket what you think?

Thank you, I can't see how this would damage alloy wheels

I just had one of those. (Why didn’t I think of that ) moments. Nice simple tool. Thanks.

Good tip ...thank you brother... I'll try that
thats a really nice bead breaker, nice simple design.excellent
Muy buen invento para desmontar una llanta te has ganado un
Neat tool. Here is the head scratcher. If the bead is an air tight seal how does the lube soak in?
You got me.... There I go ...rambling again... lol
@@itchyoldfart I've been know to do that too from time to time.
You are very good at making a tire press machine that works very well.
Outstanding. Must have. Gotta do. Thanks for posting.
Very nice tool, sure very helpful. I am going to do something like it. Once again well done.
Thank you brother .good luck with it
Super tool mate
would you take a defender tyre off 205 16" just to convince me to make this ,its one of the best i have ever seen .HAPPY NEW YEAR.From great britain
I certainly would if I had a defender tire and rim hanging around here... thank you brother And happy New Year to you
Ingenious design. Cant wait to see the new beadlock wheels on the old M37 beast.
Thank you brother

Thank you brother
I'm diggin the ol Harley In the shop !!!
It's a 1937 ULH police special
Me too, I see this nice bike on back 😄
It’s a 45ci ?
Good job with the tool !
Try it on a rusted rim and old tire.
I agree - awesome tool. Could you use an impact wrench on that, or is that overkill?
Thank you...Yes I thought about an impact Socket... it would have to be a homemade socket, about 4" deep ...lol

Impressive! What did you make the pivot block from?
I believe 1.5 square stock
this confused me, before you started the thread where you put the wrench on the top looked short but after you done it looked a lot longer.
Really nice tool, I could have used one of those when I was putting tires on my f150 just a few days ago. Ill have to make one of those now. :)
Thank you brother ...it sure comes in handy when you need it
Awesome tool. Great content.
wish we were neighbors. we'd get all my stuff fixed.
You know it!!
Nothing like a good tire iron
Good. I will get made one for me from Welding shop. I think. It would be great helpful for me on my shop.
Interesting. It looked like the mixture did most of the work to break the bead.
What is the thickness of the steel on the bead breaker
1/4"
I like that idea maybe I can try to make me want it I'm going to do something then I'm not as young as I used to be
Oh so you're becoming an old fart... work smarter not harder.. lol...
Так вот он какой, настоящий американец))
